For the progressive rock band formed in Woodstock, NY in 1994, see 3.
1) Three were a post-hardcore band signed to Dischord records featuring members of Gray Matter and ex-Minor Threat drummer Jeff Nelson. Formed in 1986, they broke up by 1988 just before releasing an album called Dark Days Coming. They are best known for their song "Swann Street" which featured on their sole album as well as a couple of Dischord compilations.
After recording the Egg Hunt songs in England, Ian MacKaye and Jeff Nelson considered forming a new band. They played with Geoff Turner and Steve Niles of Gray Matter, but the project never got off the ground and Ian decided to leave. The others carried on, and soon added yet another Gray Matter member, Mark Haggerty, and this line-up would become Three. Meanwhile, Steve had started his own comic book company, Arcane Comix, which he operated out of the apartment that he shared with Geoff on Swann Street in the Dupont Circle area of DC. It was this street that served as inspiration for the song of the same name, and the line "these berries smell like shit" referred to the small fruits that dropped to the sidewalks from the Ginkgo trees on the block. Three did a few short tours, and recorded at Geoff's home studio as well as Inner Ear. Things were looking up for them, but the band self-destructed before their album came out. Three and Happy Go Licky played their last shows together on New Year's Day, 1988.

2) Three consists of a set of identical triplet sisters, Fanny, Frida and Sofia, from Sweden. They are best known for their 2010 single “Lucky Number” and have released a self-titled debut album.
3) Imagine the best of three musical worlds harmoniously melting together - in this case, warm acoustic guitar and rhythms layered over bracing electric guitar accents and compelling drums fronted by vocals that balance between passionate and edgy. The best word to describe this musical meld is perhaps a genre of its own: Acousti-rock.
Three has released 3 NEW! songs Home, Unfamilair and wysiwyg all recorded at Powerhouse Studios. Stuart Covington engineering and also performing drums in the songs.
Bill Stu- vocals, guitar
Rack - guitar, vocals
T - bass
Stewy - drums
4) Three was a two piece Canberra band active in the 1990's whom consisted of virtuoso bass player Ben Green who also lent his voice to their compositions and Adrian McKerall (Ajax) who played drums and the odd spot of guitar. Their early demo's featured some ripping heavy bass playing that became more mature, mellow and the two piece minimalist approach was a uniquely Canberra voice as they developed.
Both members were active in other acts in the Canberra region (Bungzilla, Tugboat, Slug, Prophets of Doom etc) and played to a wider audience touring Australia until the release of their full length "My Hat Is A Red Saucepan". Green built his own bass guitar that he played throughout his time in the band which eventually relocated to Melbourne in the mid 90s
Green also became proficient in turntables and began scratching with Melbourne dub outfit High Pass Filter, Three became less active and after Green's custom handmade bass was stolen, seemed to disband.

I got morals on top loyalty that's not on a shelf
Some nights I sit battle myself I wanna shatter myself
I'm afraid to show my true colors and it's bad for my health
Hot boy from the inner cities hope my savage is felt
My only angel done turned into a demon and said welcome to hell
My brother got caught with the burner so he turned to a cell
Cuz when that money got low he had to turn to sell
Slutty bitches sending me snaps Ik that they kiss and tell
And I'm I feel like I'm higher up
Suit and tie got my attire up
Who put the air in her head come fill my tires up
I put the game in a choke hold like mma
Asking me questions I give no answers no a q n a
I smack down but keep raw here's what the truth would say
It's the streets or the booth choose ya route today
I feel as though I be shinning bright up under the lights
New kicks upped a nigga game and got me feeling like mike
Once I stopped throwing these hands I really learned how to fight
Only thing I wanna Rock is clothes shows and a mic
Encrypted visions of lavish living is how I'm feeling
But I been crippled by mental had to stop pretending
Pops wanted an Eagle Scout but I just benjis
Trynna make it from the floor to Forbes and fucking benzes
Down on my ass like grass the only place can go is the top
My niggas applying the pressure they won't let the energy drop
It's the opp or the cop don't make a difference we Grippin the shot
They want the sauce and the recipe
Learn spices I put in the pot
For all of the drama dear momma I'm sorry
I'm feeling like pac
Said that wouldn't find love
When I met you I felt it a lot
Remember when you had told me forever
But Who knew that forever could stop
Remember you told me you hate me
Hurt my heart but you did it a lot
Only seen me just to leave me
Who knew that my lover would plot
Walking down the block seen my cousin get jumped
Thank god nobody was shot
Remember when they wanted to run me
I'm the nigga who calling the shot
Remeber fuck niggas was hating
No respect you can suck on this cock
I ain't the same nigga who tucking his tail
Ain't the same who beating them block
Ain't the same nigga who hold his hand
I told that fuck nigga that he can kick rocks
Aint the same nigga who cool wit a l
Aint the same nigh who don't got locs
Aint the same nigga who lay where he fell
Told that fuck nigga that he can kick rocks
In this song, Three discusses his money, passion, and desires, and how he is striving for wealth. He explains that despite his focus on money, he still has morals, and loyalty is something that he values highly. However, he battles with himself and his true colors, as he is afraid to show them and it is affecting his health.
Three also touches on the struggles he has faced, such as his angel turning into a demon, his brother getting caught with a gun and turning to selling drugs when his money ran low. He describes himself as a hot boy from the inner cities, hoping his savage mentality is felt. He also mentions feeling like he's higher up and puts the game in a chokehold, comparing himself to an MMA fighter.
The song also recognizes the importance of making choices - whether it's the streets or the booth, he has to choose his route today. Three admits that he has been crippled by his mental state, but he's pushing through regardless. He's been down on his luck, but he's determined to make it to the top. His lover has betrayed him, and he's had to deal with haters, but he remains strong, standing up for himself and refusing to be the same person he once was.
