Look Out
Three (3) Inches Of Blood Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The world of metal
Was ruled by him for many years
Even though he's gone he will live on
He did reign on a silver mountain high
The spirit will not die
When you hear him coming

[Repeat x6]
Look out

There was no equal
He was a legend of his time
A voice that always shines
Brighter than a shooting star

Send you to Heaven and shoot you to Hell
He slayed the dragon each and every night
It was his right
A king among his kind
He shared his wisdom even to the last in line
The world now better having been touched by his gift
From the lowliest mortal to the Gods on high
A force to reckon for all eternity

You think you're ready, but you're not prepared
When you hear the sound

[Repeat x3]
Look out

Send you to Heaven and shoot you to Hell
He slayed the dragon each and every night
It was his right
A king among his kind
He shared his wisdom even to the last in line
His glory is divine
Capturing the essence of all that's great and fine

He slayed the dragon each and every night
It was his right
A king among his kind
He shared his wisdom even to the last in line
That he was taken she'd a tear
His legacy remains so he will never die
Be aware that he's coming for you

[Repeat x3]
Look out

To me this song is just beautiful. Using Dio's own song titles to create a song that would normally sound like an epic and thunderous song about a great fantasy king. But anyone who knows there metal easily picks up on thing like "he slayed the dragon" and "he ruled upon a silver mountain" as an amazing tribute to a god of metal. R.I.P DIO

Well said bro... So very well said.

This song came on my Pandora shuffle. After the first lyrics "The world of metal was ruled by him for many years" I knew instantly it was a tribute for Dio.

Awesome tribute by my fellow Canadians! Love the way you incorporated lyrics, song titles and ideas from Dio's entire career. Man On The Silver Mountain,Killing The Dragon artwork, keyboards like the Rainbow era, "Look Out" from Sabbath's Children Of The Sea, Last In Line, 80's style guitar solo and much more all make this a killer tribute! Thanks so much! I actually went through a slight depression the day he died! Thank God I got to see this great man play on the Dream Evil, Angry Machines(I think-with Blaze Bayley era Maiden) and Killing The Dragon tours! I thought I'd died and gone to Heaven when I got to see the Heaven And Hell Tour, not once but twice! Never thought I'd see the day when he'd reunite with Sabbath!

Brian Sauer

Ya Iain. Call them what you want. It was kind of confusing!I like Ozzy with Sabbath too, but I think Heaven And Hell, since it came out in 1980 was one of a few early 80's albums that literally defined what Heavy Metal was! Although Ozzy era had more songs due to the number of albums (all awesome), I enjoy Dio more, both with Sabbath and his own band!

Ииан Маккензии

i got to see him with sabbath in Calgary. so glad i had the chance. or maybe it was heaven and hell? probably around 2008?
