Buried in the Sun
Thrice Lyrics

I saw the fire on the television
The DOD or the CIA?
If we're the cops, then the world's our prison
Two, four, six, eight, USA, alright

The blood red, the black gold
This is the air we breathe
The beachhead, the backroad
Buried in the sun
She felt the thrum of the helicopter
A little taste of that shock and awe
She tried to run but the bullets caught her
Courtesy of our coup d'etat, alright

The blood red, the black gold
This is the air we breathe
The beachhead, the backroad
Buried in the sun

The blood red, the black gold
This is the air we breathe
The beachhead, the backroad
Buried in the sun

Buried in the sun
Buried in the sun

I saw the fire on the television
The DOD or the CIA?
If we're the cops, then the world's our prison
Two, four, six, eight, USA, alright

The blood red, the black gold
This is the air we breathe
The beachhead, the backroad
Buried in the sun

The blood red, the black gold
This is the air we breathe
The beachhead, the backroad
Buried in the sun

That riff 1:34 onwards is just bliss.

Are we not gonna talk about how self aware Thrice have been since 2003's Cold Cash and Colder Hearts? They have something to say about our country and see how its flawed

Good grief…this is songwriting greatness.

Favorite song from the new album

StreetsOf

Let me be honest for a minute.
I'm all for change and developing sound and I really want to like this album but it's not just not gripping me. The first song is great but I find myself skipping through most of the other songs. It is what it is, I guess. Thrice have written some of my favourite songs before now. Glad there's a 2nd part coming out. Any favourites from this one that I should reconsider? Thanks. Peace!
