Thundamentals have released their succinctly-titled single Miss You, co-produced with Sydney multi-instrumentalist Carl Dimataga (Khalid). It's a chance for the group to discuss friendships that have dissolved over time, and the role that social media has played in creating a false sense of connection. "You lose touch with reality if you're just looking at social media", Jeswon says. "I feel like it's great to stay connected in the superficial sense and see what your friends are doing, but it's also kind of toxic. You forget that everyone is going through the ups and the downs. All you're seeing is the ups".
Thundamentals recently wrapped up a 36-date, sold-out tour of regional Australia, proving that their electric live show can thrill audiences in all corners of the country. Their immense popularity led to 2017's Everything We Know hitting Number. 2 on the ARIA charts, while the group also have three Gold singles in Australia (including "Sally' landing at #8 on Triple J's Hottest 100 2018) and over 37 million streams worldwide.

YOUR NAME
Thundamentals Lyrics

I wish I knew your name
Let me introduce myself
Your such a pretty girl
I wish I knew your name
Let me introduce myself
Sorry, did I catch you at a bad time?
I'm waiting for the train myself
King Street is the place I be
I hope you don't find this offensive
If I fall short of impressive
Courtship isn't my thing
So is that why you phone's more interesting
Does that get your attention?
Now you're thinking I'm a lame jerk
Some guy, saying I don't mind
To a fine young lady while she's just on her way to work
Okay, maybe it's out of line
So it's all cool if you got to go, but
If you got a small amount of time
I think you're beautiful
So I thought you oughta know
Your such a pretty girl
I wish I knew your name
Let me introduce myself
Would you like to visit my world?
Your such a pretty girl
I wish I knew your name
Let me introduce myself
Would you like to visit my world?
Hey, I don't mean to appear rude
I bet you're thinking I'm a weird dude
But I ain't see-through, I speak truth
Truth is I feel sick till the minute when I see you
I see you sitting her waiting
Train's late is it testing your patience?
You're the prettiest miss on the station
I'd give anything just to know what your name is
And everyday when I'm walking past
I shoot you a smile, that's my calling card
You smile back, I think you're a star
Would it be too much if I ask for your autograph?
I know this seems forward
But I'm through with being cautious
So, would you like to go out somewhere?
Would you wanna let down your hair with me?
Your such a pretty girl
I wish I knew your name
Let me introduce myself
Would you like to visit my world?
Your such a pretty girl
I wish I knew your name
Let me introduce myself
Would you like to visit my world?
The lyrics of Thundamentals' song "Your Name" describe a man's attempt to connect with a pretty girl he sees at a train station. The singer expresses his admiration for the woman's physical appearance and his desire to get to know her better. He introduces himself with the hope of sparking a conversation and making a connection. At first, the woman seems uninterested in his advances, but as the song progresses, she warms up to him, and they consider the possibility of going out together and exploring what the world has to offer.
The song captures the hesitancy, excitement, and vulnerability of trying to connect with someone new. The singer is sincere in his attempts to get to know the woman and is willing to risk rejection to do so. The lyrics create a tension between the fear of being rejected and the hope that a connection can be made. The song speaks to anyone who has been in a similar situation, trying to find the courage to approach someone they find attractive and take a chance on creating a connection.
