He is widely regarded as a one-hit wonder, who popularized the song "Little Bitty Pretty One", written by Bobby Day, and sung by Harris in 1957. It reached #6 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Much later, the song appeared on the soundtracks to films or television dramas, such as Telling Lies in America, Lipstick on Your Collar, and Christine.
In 1958, Harris scored a Top 20 R&B hit with "Do What You Did," but he failed to have any chart success afterwards. His other best known song was "Runk Bunk", recorded in 1959, and released by Aladdin Records (Aladdin 3452).

When you did what you done, last night
To me
Do what you did
When you held me, woah, so tight
Oh!
When the lights were low
Just me and you and the radio
Do what you did
When you did what you done last night
Woah
Oh, well,
[Skat]
Yeah, oh
Do what you did
When you held me close
When you made
My soul roast
Do what you did
When you did what you done last night
Woah
[Skat]
[Bridge:]
Well, do what you do
When you did what you done last night
Woah
Do what you did
When you held me, woah, so tight
Oh!
Do what you did
When the lights were low
Just me and you and the radio
Do what you did
When you did what you done last night
To me
[Skat]
Do what you did
When you held me close
When you made
My soul roast
Do what you did
When you did what you done last night
Woah
[Skat]
The song "Do What You Did" by Thurston Harris is a plea to a lover to repeat the actions and emotions of a previous night spent together. The lyrics reflect a desire to relive the passion and intimacy of that moment. The repetition of the title phrase "Do what you did" serves as a refrain that emphasizes the importance of recapturing that experience. The verses describe specific actions that the singer wants the lover to repeat such as holding tight and turning down the lights.

Better than "LBP One", in fact, this was his best 45 IMHO. I used to think it was Plas on sax but in fact, it was his clone, Jackie Kelso, according to the late great Stu Colman.
