Szamojéd Freskó
Thy Catafalque Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Nincsen semmi más,
Kúp van és gúla.
Testem rejtekéből
Kitör a félelem.

A tudás mit sem ér,
A semmiből vétettem.
Száraz magom hull
A fekete sárba.

A Holdon túli
Hatalmas terek,

Néma csarnokok
Tükrében állsz.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Szamojéd Freskó by Thy Catafalque are highly poetic and abstract, but refer to common themes of fear, ignorance and the vastness of the unknown. The song begins with the lines "Nincsen semmi más, Kúp van és gúla," which translate to "There is nothing else, just a cupola and a tower." These structures represent the heights of human achievement but are ultimately meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

The next line, "Testem rejtekéből Kitör a félelem" translates to "Fear erupts from within me," indicating a deep sense of anxiety and uncertainty in the face of the unknown. This fear is further compounded by the line "A tudás mit sem ér," which means "Knowledge is worthless." This could be interpreted as a suggestion that no matter how much we try to understand, the universe will always remain inscrutable.

The final two lines of the song are "A Holdon túli Hatalmas terek, Néma csarnokok Tükrében állsz," which roughly translates to "In the vast spaces beyond the Moon, you stand reflected in silent halls." This imagery conjures up a sense of awe and insignificance in the face of the universe, where even the greatest achievements of humanity pale in comparison to the enormity of the cosmos.

I heard one song from this artist a few months ago but didn't ever listen to it again or hear or see anything about them since. I just randomly found this song just now, and it is probably my best find of the week. There's a lot going on between the instruments and a lot of odd directional and emotional changes in this track, and it simply amazes me. Extremely creative and original and so so talented. I'm gonna listen to an entire album from them right now and fall asleep to it if it doesn't keep me awake. I'm overly impressed
