Treason
Thyestean Feast Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Retribution reach me
Deceive leashed cross
Traitor
Church breeds witchery
Sorcerers ravage dance
Come and kiss his throne
Trace the liturgy
Wallow in fragile lies
When crown bares my thorns
Reach for me
How luster of sainted viper
Seduces thy daughters with ease
Trace the liturgy
Inbred truth so hollow
Be the one above trinity
Accuser
Ascend through immortal blood
Revere my reign with screams
Patricide
The lyrics of Thyestean Feast's song Treason portrays a sense of betrayal and deception. The first stanza talks about fear being nailed down and retribution reaching the person who caused it. The second line suggests that someone is lying and crossleashed, possibly being punished for their actions. The term traitor implies that someone has betrayed a trust they once held. In the second stanza, the theme of witchcraft is introduced. The church is accused of breeding witchery and sorcerers ravage dance. The line "Come and kiss his throne" suggests that the person they are addressing is the perpetrator of the deception they were referring to earlier. The next line "Betrayer" affirms this notion.
The third stanza tells the listener to trace the liturgy and wallow in fragile lies. The line "When crown bares my thorns, reach for me" could mean that the betrayer is encouraging the listener to seek their help when they are in trouble. However, it could also mean that the betrayer is warning the listener that they themselves are not immune from the same fate that befell the person they deceived. In the fourth stanza, the theme of seduction is introduced. The line "How luster of sainted viper seduces thy daughters with ease" could mean that someone is luring women with a false sense of security. The term sainted viper is an oxymoron, implying that the person being referred to looks good on the outside but is actually poison. The last stanza tells the listener to ascend through mortal blood and revere the betrayer's reign with screams, possibly meaning that the betrayer is exhorting the listener to join them in their actions.

One anecdote about Vlad involving his sick sense of humor was what he did to a guest who repeatedly complained about the smell of the impaled victims. He had the complainer impaled on a much higher stake, claiming that way, the smell wouldn't bother him.

Brian Corvello that’s actually not a real story, it was made up by his enemies to smear his name. He was brutal but even to this day they teach Romanian children that he was a hero, I mean he did piss off Mehmed, and considering the sultans tremendous army, Tepes was impressive in keeping the ottomans at bay for a while. I grew up studying about him in school in Romania and I always had a fascination with him, so I did extensive research on his sadistic ways. I certainly don’t worship him, heck he is demented but that story is nothing more than rumors spread by his enemies.

@Loccyster hey man, aint ya heard "if it was printed on a press, it must be true"...…………. lmao the freakin plebians know no barrier of time.
Loccyster
@Brian Corvello, just because it coincided with the invention of the printing press, doesn't mean it's all true.
Richard could still be correct and the invention of the printing press would have made the tactic even more efficient.

In Vlad the Impala's case, one famous story claims after defeating an enemy army and impaling them, he then held a victory celebration among the dying victims. One guest constantly kept complaining about the stench, annoyed Vlad had the complaining guest impaled on a much higher stake, claiming it was so the stench wouldn't bother him.
