David
Ti Manno Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Chak fwa'm sonjé'l dlo koulé nan zye'm
Sitou ke-m pasé an pil peripesi
Nan yon péyi ke mwen pa gen pèsonn
Out 79' se yon kochma pou nou
La pli nan nuit sa té térib pou nou an pil
Lè yon gwo dlo te anvayi'n nan plen solèy
Pre- chorus
Tout sa'n posédé té alé
La pèn te anvayi kè nou
Lè nou tandé David sou ayiti
Nou pansé tout moun t'ap péri
Anfèt, n'santi nou délivré
Lè'n aprann, fanmi nou yo té éparyé
Alòské nou menm té an danjé
Nou mandé pou no retounen
Pada-bap…pada-bap
Mézanmi woy, wolo-loy woy
Mézanmi woy, wolo-loy woy
Oooooooh pòtoprens li lè pou'm alé
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Pétyon vil, li lé pou'm alé
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Depi 22 jou'm deyò, li lè pou'm alé
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Depi 22 jou'm deyò, li lè pou'm alé
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Siklòn manké poté'm alé, la pli manké poté'm alé
Sé bon dyé ki fè mwen sové
Vini pou nou mennen'm alé
Mwen pa pra'l mouri nan peyi étranjé
Mennen'm alé lakay mwen
Mennen'm aléeeee li lè pou'm alé
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Mennen'm alé li lè pou'm alé
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Aleeee alé alé eeeh
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Ann-alé eh eh, alé alé eh
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Aleeee alé alé eeeh
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Pada-bap…pada-bap
Mézanmi woy, wolo-loy woy
Mézanmi woy, wolo-loy woy
Oooooooh pòtoprens li lè pou'm alé
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Pétyon vil, li lé pou'm alé
Maryani kwadèboukè, li lè pou'm alé
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Nan ti péyi sa'a sé la mwen gen manman
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Nan ti péyi sa'a sé la mwen gen ti sè
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Nan ti péyi sa'a sé la si'm tombé ma levé
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Nan ti péyi sa'a sé la si'm grangou ma manjé
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Nan ti péyi sa'a sé la si'm malady a treté'm
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Menen'm alé, m'alé, m'alé, m'alé, m'alé, m'alé, m'alé, m'alé, m'alé, m'alé
Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen
Tout sa'n posédé té alé
La pèn te anvayi kè nou
Lè nou tandé David sou ayiti
Nou pansé tout moun t'ap péri
Anfèt, n'santi nou délivré
Lè'n aprann, fanmi nou yo té éparyé
Alòské nou menm té an danjé
Nou mandé pou nou retounen…
These lyrics are from Ti Manno's song "David" and describe the singer's desire to return home to Haiti after experiencing hardship and danger while living abroad. The chorus emphasizes this desire, with the repetition of "Nan peyi'm m'ap tounen" ("I'm going back to my country"). The first verse describes the memories that the singer carries with them, including the sight of water flowing in their eyes and the struggles they faced in a foreign land. The second verse mentions a natural disaster that affected Haiti in 1979, causing the loss of electricity and possessions. The pre-chorus describes the relief and gratitude felt upon hearing that loved ones survived and the hope of returning home.
These lyrics reflect the longing and sentimentality that many Haitians feel towards their home country, as well as the difficulties and discrimination faced by Haitians living abroad. The Haitian diaspora is a significant population, with many Haitians having left their country to seek better economic opportunities and escape political instability. Despite this, many Haitians maintain a strong connection to their roots and aspire to one day return home.
