and this would later determine his choice of singing and writing in English.
Despite having no musical background in his family, Tiago started playing the acoustic guitar at age 8.
In 2007 his unpretentious acoustic single 'Nothing but a Song' drew attention to
his voice and led to the release of his debut album Let Yourself In, which gained notoriety after several of Tiago's songs were featured on major Brazilian primetime soap operas, TV ads and films. Tiago soon started touring across the country and in 2009 was Jason Mraz's Brazilian Tour opening act.
Let Yourself In was also released in Japan, where 'Nothing But a Song' peaked at number 11 on Billboard's Japan HOT 100 Chart, and in South Korea, where the public granted Tiago a Best Foreign Artist Award for his performance at the 2010 Grand Mint Festival. Another single — 'Fine' — featured on the popular South Korean TV series Personal Taste.
His second studio album Umbilical — which had New York-based Andy Chase as producer — was simultaneously released in Brazil, South Korea and Portugal on October 2011. Digital releases in the United States and Japan followed shortly after.
The Umbilical Tour had it's debut on March 14th at the 2012 South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas, and included performances in Portugal and over 20 sold out dates in Brazil.
Ticket to Ride
Tiago Iorc Lyrics

I think it's today.
Yeah.
The girl
That's drivin' me mad
Is goin' away.
She's got a ticket to ride.
She's got a ticket to ride,
But she don't care.
She said that livin' with me
Was bringin' her down.
Yeah.
She would never be free
When I was around.
She's got a ticket to ride.
She's got a ticket to ride.
She's got a ticket to ride,
But she don't care.
I don't know why
She's ridin' so high.
She oughtta think twice.
She oughtta do right by me.
Before she gets to sayin' goodbye,
She oughtta think twice.
She oughtta do right by me.
I think I'm gonna be sad.
I think it's today.
Yeah.
The girl that's drivin' me mad
Is goin' away.
Yeah.
Ah, she's got a ticket to ride.
She's got a ticket to ride.
She's got a ticket to ride,
But she don't care.
I don't know why she's ridin' so high.
She oughtta think twice.
She oughtta do right by me.
Before she gets to sayin' goodbye,
She oughtta think twice.
She oughtta do right by me.
She said that livin' with me
Was bringin' her down.
Yeah.
She would never be free
When I was around.
Ah, she's got a ticket to ride.
She's got a ticket to ride.
She's got a ticket to ride,
But she don't care.
Tiago Iorc's song "Ticket to Ride" is a cover of the Beatles' song of the same name, originally released in 1965. The song tells the story of a man who is heartbroken because his girlfriend is leaving him, and she already has a ticket to leave. The repetitive melody adds to the feeling of despair, and lyrics like "I think I'm gonna be sad" and "The girl that's drivin' me mad is goin' away" convey a sense of hopelessness.
The man struggles to understand why she is leaving and why she is "riding so high." He feels like she should "do right by me" before she leaves, but she doesn't seem to care. The repeating chorus of "She's got a ticket to ride, but she don't care" underscores the man's feeling of abandonment and helplessness.
The song's lyrics touch on themes that are common in many breakup songs, including heartbreak, sadness, and despair. The melody and repetition of the chorus help to emphasize the emotions expressed in the lyrics. As a cover, Iorc incorporates his similar melancholic style into the song, creating an emotional experience through his interpretation of the song.
