Formed in Sacramento, California, United States in 1992, they managed to garner something of a cult following before disbanding only a year later in 1993. Their last concert took place at Bottom of the Hill, San Francisco, in December 1993.
Along with Beat Happening, Lois Maffeo, Tullycraft, and Black Tambourine they are considered to be one of the most influential bands of the American twee pop movement.
Melberg went on to become a solo artist as well as playing with the bands The Softies, Go Sailor, and Gaze. Dunn went on to play drums with Lois, the reformed Raincoats, and Dub Narcotic Sound System.

Supreme Nothing
Tiger Trap Lyrics

Lamest thing about it is I don't know there from you
I come on trying to recapture your attention
I accept the moment you somehow forgot to mention
Supreme nothing, oh yeah
Supreme nothing, oh yeah
Worse thing we could do is not to tell me in the end
Supreme nothing, oh yeah
Supreme nothing, oh yeah
I got things to say to you but like you really care
You make me into nothing, floating in the air
Supreme nothing, oh yeah
Supreme nothing, oh yeah
Supreme nothing, oh yeah
Supreme nothing, oh yeah
Tiger Trap's song Supreme Nothing is about the feeling of worthlessness and insignificance that comes with not being acknowledged or remembered by someone you consider a friend. The lyrics express the frustration and disappointment of the singer who feels like they are constantly trying to gain the attention of someone who doesn't even recognize or acknowledge their efforts. It's a song about feeling unseen and unimportant, and the impact that can have on someone's self-esteem.
The first verse of the song encompasses the struggle of trying to prove oneself to someone who doesn't seem to care or notice. The singer is tired of constantly trying to impress this person and failing, and acknowledges their confusion about the lack of recognition they receive. The chorus, "Supreme nothing, oh yeah", highlights the feeling of being so small and unimportant in comparison to the person they are referring to.
The second verse focuses on the frustration of not receiving honest communication. The singer questions how someone can pretend they were never friends, and how not being told the truth is the worst thing that could happen. The final chorus repeats the feeling of being a "supreme nothing", as if the person has completely disappeared or evaporated into thin air.
