Originally their name was 'Radio Chantaje' (Blackmail Radio), then they became 'No', but because there was another mexican group with the same name, they opted to change their name from 'No' to 'No de Tijuana', and in the end their name became simply Tijuana No!.

De un mundo tierra
Penúltima calle de
Latinoamérica
La línea nos marca
Desde afuera
El límite entre
Pueblo y piedra
Sin cicatrizar
Heridas en la tierra
Venas abiertas
De Latinoamérica
Ahora ya estuvo
Se acaba la era
Puertas abiertas
Esa es la mera
38 especial
Bala certera
Barras y estrellas
Están en guerra
Sin cicatrizar
Heridas en la tierra
Venas abiertas
De Latinoamérica
Aquí en la esquina
De un mundo tierra
Penúltima calle de
Latinoamérica
38 especial
Bala certera
Barras y estrellas
Están en guerra
Aquí en la esquina
De un mundo tierra
Penúltima calle de
Latinoamérica
38 especial
Bala certera
Barras y estrellas
Están en guerra
In "La Esquina del Mundo," the lyrics depict a physical location: a street corner on the border of Latin America. The line that marks the border of the two regions is described as separating "the people" and "the stone." The song highlights the tumultuous history of the region, referencing scars that have not healed and Latin America's "open veins." The use of the phrase "open veins" is a reference to Eduardo Galeano's classic work on the economic exploitation of Latin America by European powers. The lyrics lament the ongoing violence and conflict in the region, particularly in reference to the United States' involvement.
The song's chorus is repeated three times, emphasizing that the war between the "38 special" (referring to a type of gun) and the "bars and stripes" (referring to the American flag) rages on. The lyrics capture a sense of hopelessness in the ongoing struggle for peace and stability in the region, particularly as it relates to American imperialism.
Overall, "La Esquina del Mundo" is a powerful and poignant commentary on the ongoing conflicts in Latin America. It examines the region's fraught history and the ongoing impact of exploitation and violence.
