We love to hail things as 'ancient' as though it conveys purity.

These landraces only have to be rewound by about 50 years to get back to pre-breeding states.

Indica/Sativa are not separate species in fact, but rather, indicate the morphology of the plants growth characteristics. Effects are more determined by terpene/cannabinoid profiles, and are more accurately percieved as chemovars, than individuated species.

I'm 74 and have been using cannabis for over 55 years. While in Vietnam serving with the Marines in '68, I was introduced to some very potent weed. However, the craziest weed I have ever smoked was Panama Red, while actually in the jungles of Panama! I was fortunate to catch a couple of cruses after I returned from Vietnam. We had a brief stop-over in Panama for some field exercises and I was able to obtain some genuine Panama Red from one of the locals. It was the absolute stoneyest ganja that I have ever had to pleasure to smoke. Peace and love to all for the New Year from S. Oregon....

I have an old old skunk strain that I've grown for 30+ years! Never crossed it with anything and it's so damn strong smell of skunk will make your eyes water like an onion does if you get it too close to your face! I have an even older purple strain that was the first plants I ever grew. The whole plant is purple, a deep deep purple. Almost a black color!

Hash in Afghanistan 🇦🇫 can be so different from one region to another.
Some have full body high and are very relaxing while others ( especially from Mazar Shareef) have a head high and good euphoria.
Also some tastes like nuts while others can taste like melons.
But nowadays some assholes add so many things in hash and finding pure hash is very difficult in major cities.

I’ve grown approx. 20 different strains of weed over the years, sativas & Indicas.(I prefer Indica). I’ve had varying degrees of success. Some looked & smelled great on the plant but after harvesting & curing didn’t have the taste I expected. I grew them both indoors & out, under different types of lights, different soil, etc. Its amazing how many things can mess up your crop. Anyway, the ONE strain I grew (inside & out) that did really well was called Afghan #1. It looked EXACTLY like te Afghan plants seen here, it was great in every respect. I finally stopped growing cause it took up too much time, but I still smoke every day, & I’m 64. Been smoking since I was 16. Oh, & I’m NOT addicted! 😄👆🏽

Ive heard it and seen as well that if you have a handful of different top notch strains with different characteristics you can pretty much carefully select different phenotypes and cross with the best to create some wild potent and amazing stuff. Its why genetics get more and more pricey. Its such a pleasure to see what nature can do with a gentle nudge here and there through time. And cannabis is quite a genetically diverse specimen that there is no limit to what crazy things it can so. Like the Australian wild growing strain with funky leaves or the fresian duck strain or another with leaves like ferns and all the vast cannabinoid profiles that can be swayed. Just awesome. If anyone stumbles upon a rare genetic specialty, try to capture it and breed it to share with the world. Cheers.

I grow medical / recreational cannabis here in Michigan. I have male / female seeds from an appalachian landrace cultivar that is a pure sativa. Unknown, un-traceable genetic that cross-breeds well with ruderalis and some of the Kush phenotypes. Does well in the cooler climate here for outdoor, pure-sun grows, amended with a 1000W MH / HPS indoor grow system. It is true that the Kush pheno's are available here in our Michigan recreational dispensaries. VERY HIGH PRICE! That's why I still grow and breed. Continued success to all growers.

I believe it! There was a documentary about Popcorn Sutton, an old moonshiner in appalachia. He talked about some strains from Kentucky and W. Virginia that they would grow. Stated it was some of the most sought-after cannabis due to it's high THC / CBD. Stated it produced mild hallucinations. @@sircull4047

Chitral kush is a purple phenotype 100% indica I came across once in my life. It's ancient, so ancient it may have been presented to the Chinese dude that is cited as "discovering" cannabis for Chinese medicine. I mean think about that, humans have been growing cannabis for so long that by the time the Chinese discovered it thousands of years ago, there was already a purple phenotype. Fun fact, the hash made from this strain also comes out purple. If any is made in Pakistan, it is all set aside for export to europe

Had a plant in the woods. Forgot about it, cam back and a thorny vine was choking it. Took it off and it was ok but started growing shades of red like the vine. I always just chalked it up to a kwinky dink but always had that thought of maybe lol

I enjoyed Afghani in my 20's and 30's. Now in my 70's, since pot is legal to grow in my State, I long to become well acquainted once again. The best Afghani I ever had was grown in a compost pile from a half-burnt roach seed, go figure.

Used to smoke lots of Thai on the early 80s even some opiated Thai Stick. Sometimes it was seedy and cheap other times it was high grade. The smell was spicy and musky like an incense. Then it disappeared along with real skunk. Too bad.

When I was in Afghanistan in the tribal regions that are to the north east everything you saw green was weed. They had very little actually grass. Now unless they tended to it it was horrible bit at the villages holy shot. So much. Weed

TBH, I wouldnt want to grow an Aceh strain, or what we used to call Sumatran tripping grass. It is just way too strong and the psychadelic effects are like tripping on acid. It was characterised by long sparse buds which were just almost completley resin.

Recently found a collection of hundreds of seeds from California that my father in law brought to Oklahoma when he moved here in 86..Tucked away in a old tackle box ..He said he cant claim to know any of the strains that might have ended up in there but said they where all from grows between the years 84 -86 .. Im currently doing a germination viability test .

20% THC and below isn't strong in my book.....its for amateurs......I really enjoy Headbanger strain at around 30% THC content and not just because of the high THC content.....everything about headbanger seems to really agree with me and makes me laugh like the first time u ever smoked....I would really like to try the Godfather OG strainbecause I really like a strain that can mske me put the bowl down and enjoy the high without constantly having to smoke more just to maintain the initial buzz.......but I think old Willie had it right when he said the combination of weed and exercise will do the trick and for me it does......a simple short walk is enough....u don't have to be Jane Fonda.....and the results are tremendous.

It's tested and regulated by Health Canada, they do over 882 tests on samples from each plant and each plant is tracked from seed to sale... You should get informed before commenting dumb shit like that.

I love the OG strains. Sour Diesel, BlueBerr, G13, Cat Piss, white widow/Rhino.

It’s kind of hard to come by the ancient strains now in days. To much crossbreeds. Before I remember smoking and you get a straight mellow buz some of them was strong too. BUT now with one hit that is all you need. Not saying I don’t like the strains now is really good but you can not degrade with OG strains.

Is it weird that any sativa strains don’t get me that high. Every time I smoke a sativa strain it feels more like a buzz. Only Indica and hybrids are able to get me real high. Also why is it that when I smoke is never able to put me down to sleep. Is their anybody else that has no problem staying up while smoking? Fyi I have bad insomnia is one of the reasons I smoke besides having PTSD and diagnosed with BPD. Any thoughts?

Just grow your own Indica dominant strain and let it over ripen. Let all the trichromes turn amber and it will Knock You Out everytime you smoke it guaranteed.

the only way is to ask your dispenserie for the true strains. All the big strain dealer have them in their freezer. But i think the demand is too small and the customer want some "SilverHeavySuperBubbleSticky....Stuff" Crosses

Why not the infamous Durban sativa with heightened thc-v values and a unique to Durban genetics a terp/flavenoid tasting liquerice and as rare effect as resembling speed/amphettamine for the energyboost and clarity of mind making People able work or be at school and actually have big benefits of an organic plant instead of adhd medicine like adderall ++
