His professional career began with none other than funny man, Billy Crystal. For five years, Timmy was Billy's accompanist. His musical improvisations on piano and saxophone along with Billy's comedy made them an engaging team. However, this was only the beginning for Timmy.
He went on to record and tour with artists such as Peter Gabriel, Eric Carmen, Carly Simon, and Ringo Star. However, one of the biggest breaks of Timmy's career began in 1984. He became a member of Tina Turner's band, in which he has been a key member ever since. Timmy was able to incorporate some of his skills, arranging music for the band. It was during his stint with Turner that Timmy also began to engage in acting.
He has starred in several of Tina Turner's music videos, one being the hit single "We Don't Need Another Hero," the title track for the Mel Gibson-Tina Turner movie flick, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. From then on, Timmy acted in several films and television series, including Hearts of Fire (with Bob Dylan), Tap (with Gregory Hines), and The Lost Boys, in which he performed a single off of the movie soundtrack. Timmy's television credits include The Equalizer and Miami Vice.
Timmy Cappello's other accomplishments include songwriting and scoring. He has written songs for and performs with the New York band the Ken Dolls through a staff writing deal with Warner Bros. Timmy has scored for the PBS Frontline series and has recently completed a composition for the Rat Pack, a four hour Arts & Entertainment special.
Timmy also performed with the 1999 version of Ringo Star's All Star Band, in which he was a member of in 1992. Currently, he is working on various musical projects.

I Still Believe
Tim Capello Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
For forty days
Only a spark
To light my way
I wanna give out
I wanna give in
This is our crime
But I still believe
I still believe
Through the pain
And through the grief
Through the lies
Through the storms
Through the cries
And through the wars
Oh, I still believe
Flat on my back
Out at sea
Hopin' these waves
Don't cover me
I'm turned and tossed
Upon the waves
When the darkness comes
I feel the grave
But I still believe
I still believe
Through the cold
And through the heat
Through the rain
And through the tears
Through the crowds
And through the cheers
Oh, I still believe
I'll march this road
I'll climb this hill
Upon my knees
If I have to
I'll take my place
Upon this stage
I'll wait till the end of time
For you like everybody else
I'm out on my own
Walkin' the streets
Look at the faces
That I meet
I feel like I
Like I wanna go home
What do I feel?
What do I know?
But I still believe
Yes, I still believe
Through the shame
And through the grief
Through the heartache
Through the tears
Through the waiting
Through the years
For people like us
In places like this
We need all the hope
That we can get
Oh, I still believe
The lyrics of Tim Capello's song "I Still Believe" speak of a person who has gone through a difficult time but still holds on to his beliefs and hopes for a better future. The singer starts by describing a time when he has been in a cave for forty days, with only a spark to light his way. This could be a metaphor for a dark period in his life where he has felt lost and alone. He then expresses his desire to give out and give in, possibly meaning he wants to give up and let go of his struggle. However, he acknowledges that this would be a crime and a sin.
The chorus of the song reaffirms the singer's belief in a brighter future, despite the pain, grief, lies, storms, and wars that he has faced. He continues to hold on to this belief even when he is "flat on his back" and the waves threaten to cover him. The second verse talks about him being out at sea and being turned and tossed upon the waves. He feels like the darkness is closing in, and he may be dragged down to the grave. However, he still believes in the face of cold, heat, rain, tears, crowds, and cheers.
The bridge of the song talks about the singer's determination to keep going, to climb this hill or march this road, even if he has to do so on his knees. He wants to take his place upon the stage, possibly meaning he wants to make a mark in the world or leave behind a legacy. However, he is still out on his own, walking the streets, feeling lost and alone.
The final chorus talks about how people like him, in places like his, need all the hope they can get. Despite everything he has been through, he still believes in a better future.

@doghou5e
When I was younger I wrote to Tim asking for an autograph. Not only did he take the time to print off a picture directly from his copy of Lost Boys and sign it he went to the post office and posted it to me in the UK himself for free. So when people ask me why I have a framed signed picture of an oiled up, pony tailed muscle man playing the saxophone I simply tell them of the absolute legend that he is and how he will always have my respect and highest regards.
