Their debut album "Cedar Shakes", recorded in a farm house near Bobcaygeon, Ontario, was released in 2006. Hence the moniker Timber Timbre as an ode to the surroundings and the warm haunting sound of the album.
2007 saw the release of Medicinals, an album recorded by Kirk in his empty Toronto apartment. "Cedar Shakes came from driving around in fields, but I don’t think Medicinals reflects the city at all actually," Kirk told the Kingston Whig Standard. "If anything, I think Medicinals is a more fetishization of the rural landscape because ultimately, that’s where I want to be."
Medicinals was released on Shuffling Feet records, the Peterborough based label of Jonas Bonnetta (Evening Hymns), who also mastered the record.
Toronto’s Out of this Spark records released Timber Timbre’s third album in January of 2009.
Demon Host

Death, she must have been your will
A bone beneath the reaper's veil
With your voice my belly sunk
And I began to feel so drunk
Candle, candle, on my clock
Oh Lord, I must have heard you knock me out of bed
And my lungs filled up black in their tiny little shack
It was real and I repent
All those messages you sent, clear as day, but in the night
Oh, I couldn't get it right
Oh, oh oh
Here is a church and here is a steeple
Open the doors there are the people
And all their little hearts at ease
For another week's disease
And eagle, eagle, talon, scream
I never once left in between
I was on the fence and I never wanted your two cents
Down my throat, in to the pit, with my head upon the spit
Oh Reverend, please, can I chew your ear?
I've become what I most fear
And I know there's no such thing as ghosts
But I have seen the demon host
Ooh, ooh ooh
The song 'Demon Host' by Timber Timbre is a hauntingly beautiful and thought-provoking track that offers a commentary on themes such as death, religion, and the supernatural. The singer of the song seems to be wrestling with their own mortality and grappling with the ideas of repentance and absolution. The opening lines "Death, she must have been your will, a bone beneath the reaper's veil" sets the tone for the rest of the song, evoking a sense of impending doom and mortality. The singer feels as if they are being haunted by some unseen force- perhaps the 'demon host' that they mention later in the song.
There are references to religion scattered throughout the song, with lines such as "Here is a church and here is a steeple, open the doors there are the people, and all their little hearts at ease, for another week's disease". This could be interpreted as a critique of organized religion and the sense of comfort that it provides to people in times of crisis. The image of the eagle with its talons and the singer's plea to the Reverend allude to the idea of being caught in a struggle between good and evil, perhaps even possession by a demon.
Overall, 'Demon Host' is a haunting and evocative song that explores complex themes such as mortality, religion, and the supernatural. The lyrics are open to interpretation and serve as a poignant commentary on the human experience.

Timeless. I’ll probably still listen to this in 30 years. Not often but when that mood hits.

It's a very under appreciated song but it holds dear to some. I don't relate to its message in any way but I find the layout of the song and the way he sings it to be intoxicating.

For the past six years I've gotten into extended moods where I just roam my empty house singing this on repeat. Hits a certain brand of southern gothic fearful melancholy like nothing else.
