Curran's debut album "Word Of Mouth" was released Sept 9th, 2007. Half the album was recorded at Studio At The Shore in Malibu; the other half at a friend and producer Ian Nickus's home in the Hollywood Hills. It was there that Curran recorded vocals in a bedroom, drums in the garage, and all other instruments in the living room. Curran had his friends Andy "The One Man Band" Smith, and Ryan "Lion" Gleason record with him on this album. The album also includes very special guests and friends Chris Shiflett from Foo Fighters, Josh Moreau from Hoobastank, and Chauntelle DuPree, from Eisley.
Curran had been working on this album for about 6 months in between his travels as a professional surfer, and touring his 6 song EP, "Citsuca". He had the amazing opportunity to open up for the Foo Fighters on 11 shows on their Acoustic Tour. One of the stops included 3 nights at the Sydney Opera House in Australia. He also played shows with Angels and Airwaves, Switchfoot, Brett Dennen, Eisley, Donavon Frankenreiter, and Matt Costa. and has also got to play The BluesFest in Byron Bay, The Falls Festival in Lorne, and Tasmania, and the Greenroom Festival in Japan. Between all these shows, and surf trips he has managed to finish his debut album "Word Of Mouth".
Curran has been playing music he has always had the idea of giving the album away in the back of his mind, that is why he decided to call it "Word Of Mouth". "I feel if something is good and people like it, it always seems to spread by word of mouth", says Timmy. "The last 3 bands that I really liked I heard about from friends. There is so much great music out there now, whether it be on the radio, MTV, or itunes, but it's always cool being turned onto good music from a friend. I honestly never would of dreamed I would be playing music, especially singing in front of people. I tried for 10 years and was absolutely horrible. It was one day after a surf contest in Japan when I finally wrote a song that I was comfortable showing some of my friends and family. A lot has happened in the last 2 years, and I feel so blessed to be able to be doing two things that I am equally passionate about."
Lonely

where we, where we
Use to stand hand in hand
and dream
Of the beautiful things
of the beautiful things
Oh,
Its felt like years, its felt like years
Oh and what I'd give to hold,
hold you close, hold you close
To my heart, to my heart
Lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, days without you
Lonely, lonley, lonely, lonely, days without you
Lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, days without you
Lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, days without you
Lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, days without you
The lyrics of Timmy Curran's song "Lonely" express the feeling of being lost and disconnected from someone who was once at the center of the singer's world. The opening lines create an image of physical distance between the two people, with the singer being "stuck beyond the sea" – perhaps suggesting that they are in a different country or continent from their loved one. The reference to standing "hand in hand and dream[ing] of the beautiful things" reinforces the depth of connection that the singer once felt for this person, and how much they miss that time together.
As the song continues, it becomes clear that the singer is pining for their loved one, wishing desperately that they could be reunited. The repetition of the word "lonely" underscores this feeling of isolation and longing, emphasizing that the singer is struggling to cope without the other person in their life. The final lines of the song nearly echo the previous ones with the same words, repeating over and over again like a mantra – perhaps emphasizing that the singer is trying to convince themselves that they can survive this separation, even as their heart aches for the person they have lost.
Overall, "Lonely" is a poignant and introspective song that captures the pain of heartbreak and the yearning for connection. It speaks to anyone who has ever experienced the emptiness of being without someone they love, and reminds us that even in our darkest moments, we can find solace in the beauty of music.
