Yo! let's begin the discussion/
Starting a conversation about sin

Because tim is disgusted/
Tim is repulsed by sin

With sin it's destructive/
Sin is harmful

I'll give the instructions/
Providing guidance on how to deal with sin

So it's not just a suggestion/
It is imperative to act against sin

Sin is nothing to mess with/
Sin should not be taken lightly

Plus it's deceptive/
Sin is misleading

Sin is like excrement covered in whip cream/
Sin may appear alluring but is ultimately repulsive

It looks sweet but we've discovered its sick scheme/
Sin may seem attractive but is harmful

Its lavish passions has attractions/
Sin may offer appealing temptations

That are acting like they give satisfaction/
Sinful pleasures appear to provide satisfaction

It seems that it has more to offer/
Sin appears to offer more than it can deliver

Than the Lord who bought you/
Sin may be more tempting than following the Lord

But it's sure to drop you/
Sin will ultimately lead to disappointment

It's disappointing/
Sin is a letdown

So we kill sin by the Spirit- every Christian has this anointing/
Christians must rely on the Holy Spirit to overcome sin

Only the Spirit can filter this filthiness/
The Holy Spirit can help cleanse us from sin

Filling us with guilt instilled in ids, killing kids/
Sin can lead to guilt and lead us to do harmful things

So while America's at war in Iraq/
Instead of focusing on external conflicts, we should tackle our internal struggles

We war with our flesh- ready with our swords to attack.
We must be prepared to fight against our own sinful desires

So let's deal with our anger and doubt/
We must confront our negative emotions

By getting to the root of it and yanking it out/
We must address the underlying causes of our negative emotions

Be militant and diligent/
We must be committed and persistent in fighting against sin

When killing sin/
In our efforts to overcome sin

By the Spirit- LET'S KILL SIN/
We must rely on the Holy Spirit to help us in the fight against sin

Don't provoke your flesh/
We should avoid behavior that may encourage sin

But choke to death/
We should seek to eradicate sin from our lives

The sin in your heart until there's no more breath/
We should be determined to eliminate sin from our lives entirely

So you came forth at a meeting/
After making a public declaration of faith

Through the course of the evening/
Over the course of a gathering

To the altar call and prayed to the Lord that you need Him/
After making a public declaration of faith, one should pray to the Lord for strength and guidance

So now pick up your cross and follow the resurrected Christ/
After accepting Christ, one must follow His example

For all of the rest of your life/
Following Christ is a lifelong commitment

Can wicked fantasies/
Sinful thoughts and desires

Understand man this ain't no handstamp Christianity/
True faith requires effort and commitment

Yet some folks seem to think they can continue in sin/
Some people believe that they can continue to sin without consequence

Because their forgiven in Him by no means/
Forgiveness does not mean that one can continue to sin without consequence

Yeah we're saved through faith in Christ- that's it/
Salvation is achieved through faith in Christ alone

But if we're saved then we'll hate unrighteousness/
If we are truly saved, we will reject sin and strive for righteousness

We praise God for His super amazing grace/
We should be grateful for God's grace and mercy

But killing sin is the fruit of our saving faith/
Overcoming sin demonstrates the authenticity of our faith

It's no excuse that we're totally depraved/
Our sinful nature is not an excuse for continuing in sin

Because we're united to Christ who rose up from the grave/
Through faith in Christ's resurrection, we are connected to Him

So being born from above/
Through our salvation, we have been born again

Is not freedom for us to bug/
Being saved does not give us the freedom to sin

Just because Jesus poured His blood/
We are saved only through Christ's sacrifice

The Lamb- He was slain to cancel our blame/
Christ's death removed our guilt for sin

So listen kids He commands we abstain from wickedness/
God commands us to avoid sinful behavior

Christ was smashed when He took the wrath for us/
Christ suffered for our sins

So to kill sin is the right reaction//
Fighting against sin is the appropriate response to Christ's sacrifice

We're not debtors to our flesh/
We are not required to follow our sinful desires

But to Him who resurrected us when we were headed to our death/
Our allegiance is to Christ, who saved us from our sins

He redeemed us all on the cross/
Through Christ's sacrifice, we have been redeemed

So to grow in holiness is our reasonable response/
Pursuing holiness is a logical response to Christ's sacrifice

Our new birth was purchased by Holy wrists/
Christ's sacrifice enabled our salvation

But now He's concerned by our own personal holiness/
God wants us to pursue righteousness and holiness

Yet we're proud and arrogant/
Sometimes we may become conceited and haughty

How dare us- when He's given us Himself for undefiled inheritance/
It is foolish to be arrogant when God has given us so much

Anger and jealousy that shouldn't be found in Christians/
Christians should not exhibit harmful emotions

Just like slang in a spelling bee/
Using inappropriate language is out of place

Sluggardly laziness/
Idleness is not acceptable for Christians

That shouldn't be named among us- just like nuns on a dating list/
Certain behaviors are inappropriate for Christians

We used to fuss obscene dudes who cussed/
We should not tolerate inappropriate behavior

But now we flee youthful lust- pursuing purity/
We should reject sinful desires and strive for purity

And faith love and peace- grace from our speech/
We should express love, faith, and peace in our words

Saints we hug and greet- we're using courtesy/
We should treat others with respect and kindness

Satan's our rival and he's smart/
Satan is our adversary and a formidable opponent

Take up your Bible and be sharp/
Study the Bible to be prepared against temptation

To amputate the idols in heart/
Remove any false idols in your heart

And be wise and surely hide His word inside/
Memorize and internalize God's Word

So that when you're tempted you don't sin against Him/
Knowing God's Word can help us resist temptation

Sow to the Spirit/
Invest in the things of the Spirit

Don't sow to the flesh by listening to inappropriate lyrics/
Avoid anything that may encourage sinful behavior

But stay on your face in prayer and take your cares/
Pray to God and give Him your burdens

To the Father and give Him thanks and praise Him there/
Thank God and praise Him

Stay accountable and well equipped/
Be responsible and prepared

Surround your soul with bountiful fellowship/
Surround yourself with fellow believers

The only Son is patient/
Christ is patient with us

He gives grace when we're in need so we can overcome temptation/
God provides us with grace to resist temptation

Every night our defense is/
Each night, we are protected

The whole armor of God- let's live a life of repentance/
We should live a life of repentance and put on the armor of God for protection

Running away from sin/
Fleeing from sin

Because there's infinitely more pleasure in Christ/
Following Christ is more fulfilling than pursuing sinful pleasures

So give all your praise to Him.
We should give God all the glory and praise

He justified us/
Through Christ's sacrifice, we have been justified

So He'll sanctify us/
God will continue to sanctify and purify us

The kingdom of God is to be taken by violence/
We must be determined in our faith and fight against sin

So let's get violent with our sin/
We should be aggressive and determined in our efforts to overcome sin

Everyday we're dying/
We are constantly dying to our sinful nature

And we're dying crucifying it again/
Continuing to fight against sin and dying to our fleshly desires
