Bluebird
Timothy Brown Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lake lay blue, below the hill, below the hill
As I looked, there flew across the waters cold and still
A bird whose wings were palest blue
The sky above was blue at last
The sky beneath me blue in blue, was blue in blue
A moment ere the bird had passed
The lake lay blue below the hill
The lyrics to Timothy Brown's song Bluebird evoke a peaceful and serene image of a blue lake resting beneath a hill. The singer observes a bird with pale blue wings flying across the still waters of the lake. The sky above and below him is also blue, creating a striking and tranquil scene. The bird seems to be in a trance, as it calls out before continuing on its path.
One interpretation of these lyrics could see the bluebird as a symbol of hope and transcendence. Its pale blue wings and trance-like state could represent an otherworldly presence or a spiritual force. The singer witnesses this creature as if it were passing through a momentary portal, connecting the earthly realm with something beyond.
Another interpretation could be simply a reflection on the beauty of nature. The azure colors of the sky and the lake create a sense of harmony and balance. The bluebird's passing might be seen as a reminder of the fleeting beauty of life, and how it's important to pause and appreciate it when we can.
