Drop
Tinfed Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's a piece of paper
Like all the pieces of me
That I gave to you
It's the watering of a dry plant
I don't really know
I just see what it would do

Let me take you down
There's nothing at all
Here to break our fall
Let me take you down
If you come with me you'll see
There's nothing that will stop this drop

It's a rock that holds me between
A neutral zone
And any possible feat
It's the triumph that feels so hollow
It's the truth that I can never swallow

Let me take you down
There's nothing at all
Here to break our fall
Let me take you down
If you come with me you'll see
There's nothing that will stop this
Drop

This idea feels so
Familiar, lost me now I think
Now that I've let go
Cut from all that I've ever known

It's a confirmation
One I couldn't caress
Or even like to know
It's a complete surrender, I have
Effortlessly let everything go

Let me take you down
There's nothing at all
Here to break our fall
Let me take you down
If you come with me you'll see
There's nothing here to stop this
Let me take you down
There's nothing at all
Here to break our fall
Let me take you down
If you come with me you'll see
There's nothing that will stop this drop
Stop this drop
Stop this drop

Stop this drop
Stop this drop

Overall Meaning

The song "Drop" by Tinfed contains abstract and poetic lyrics that can be interpreted in various ways. The song seems to revolve around the themes of surrender, letting go of control, and facing uncertainty head-on. The opening lines "It's a piece of paper, Like all the pieces of me, That I gave to you" suggest that the singer has given everything they have to someone else, leaving them vulnerable and exposed. The lyrics "It's the watering of a dry plant, I don't really know, I just see what it would do" could be interpreted as acting on faith, hoping that something positive will come out of a situation even though one doesn't fully understand it.

The chorus "Let me take you down, There's nothing at all, Here to break our fall" could symbolize the singer urging someone to let go and jump into the unknown with them, assuring them that they will be okay regardless of what happens. The lyrics "If you come with me you'll see, There's nothing that will stop this drop" suggest that the singer is not afraid of falling or failing, but rather sees it as an opportunity to experience something new and different.

The lines "It's a rock that holds me between, A neutral zone, And any possible feat" could represent a sense of stagnation or being stuck between two extremes, unable to move forward or backward. The lyrics "It's the triumph that feels so hollow, It's the truth that I can never swallow" could symbolize the singer's realization that success and achievement do not always bring fulfillment or happiness, and that some truths can be hard to accept.

15 years of searching! Finally heard it again!

We spent a week recording this song only to realise when Reyka went to sing it it was too low. He could do it but he wasn't in the sweet spot. I called a rare audible and we re-did the whole track a fifth higher. It's become my son's favourite song ( he was 4 when we made it ). They should have been huge......

Just know I was absolutely obsessed with this band in the 2000s. They are so good.

I use to listen to this song on the Midnight Countdown of NU107.5 here in the Philippines waaaay back 2001 or 2002, along with A Perfect Circle's 3 Libras!! Brings back a lot of High School memories..... :')

This song never grows old.

Going through the entire Deftones discography last week reminded me of all the other artists that they have been associated with over the years including Rey Osburn ā€“ the singer for bands Tinfed, Death Valley High and Ghost Ride. The manā€™s voice fuses perfectly with both mellow and heavy music alike, as is evident from his discography. So it being a Monday and all, letā€™s maybe go with the former. #Punkflop #Trackdrops #ReyOsburn #Tinfed https://trackdrops.com/2016/04/11/tinfed-drop/
