Alexander Beyer and John William McCormick, Jr., multi-instrumentalists based in and around Philadelphia, PA. Beyer's study in Western Classical (baroque and Spanish) and Appalachian Folk have helped shaped his unique and growing style. Mac has played in the area with numerous projects, including NJ-based band Break Away.
The debut EP, Matter & Light, is a short collection of songs that have existed in various recorded forms for some time. It brings together songs inspired by southern trees, the mortality and weakness in familial bonds, and a Japanese death haiku. Granted, it seems fairly disparate, but there is still something there that unites them all.
The group is planning its first full-length recording for 2013.

Their best song to experience live, for sure. They play it at every concert and change it up every time. Just amazing 😍

For an an entire year before Moon and Antarctica came out, I had this burned CD that was made of live recordings of most of the songs that were to end up on M&A. I also saw them three times before the record finally came out, so I was so used to hearing live versions of the songs. When M&A finally came out, I was just flabbergasted at how different all the songs were. I hated it at first but then it grew on me.

My brother showed me this song. I instantly loved it and we blasted it all night while we were drunk and high and happy. Miss you bro. R.I.P
