A masterpiece.   During the Hollywood's Golden Age, the music score was just as important as the players.   It is well demonstrated here.

Wonderful. Marvelous. There was nobody like Dimitri Tiomkin. One of the very greatest of film composers. Nobody now can touch the great masters who composed for classic films such as this one. These days, they all sound the same.

From the golden age of Hollywood- a classic movie that i have enjoyed since a boy- the music, the story, the cinematography, the actors- and that marvellous love story, and that incredible kiss under the arch- the most wonderful one in all film history to me. We could use some beauty and sentiment- and certainly some hope today. All of the things that Lost Horizon gave us. Thanks so much for this. -Bill

I read Lost Horizon years ago, even though a friend of mine told me that it was boring. I loved it. Nice music! Thank you for contributing this. From Ellen

Simplesmente maravilhoso. Remete à tudo que esse mundo decadente nos apresenta!

Simplesmente maravilhoso! Nos remete à esse mundo que não existe mais!

When I think of " Lost Horizon " I'm also reminded of M. Somerset Maugham 's novel
" The Razor's Edge " . I saw two version's of  " The Razor's Edge " . The most memorable one for me was the one starring Bill Murray . I think the search for meaning of life on the part of humanity currently is ever more dire. So many leaders , so many institutions have let us down and even the well meaning ones steer us right into one disaster after another . It's time to try to make sense out of all this . Even if meaning cannot be fathomed , I believe life can be imbued with meaning  It simply takes hope and the mind and heart to dream and create .

You must have seen the Peter O'Toole version of Goodbye Mr. Chips...the 1939 one is the best! It has lots of atmosphere...and Random Harvest is my mum's favorite romantic movie; it is very sweet.

Baird Spaldings work only contains the partial inspiration for the James Hilton novel, and is equally a work of fiction in most reviewers estimation. Hilton's book is very much his own work, only the background has similarities due to the setting, you may as well say Rider Haggards "She" and it's follow on books influenced James Hilton's novel, it was a popular theme, adventure, romance, and fantasy.
