During the 1980s and ’90s he worked with all the superstars of salsa, including Ruben Blades and the late Tito Puente.
Some of his biggest hits are “Ahora y Siempre,” “Maldades” and “Unique.” In 1995 Allen made his first foray to the U.K. where he remains tremendously popular. His most recent recording is the 2006 CD, “Untouchable.”
Allen ad-libs throughout his performances, which adds an exciting element of surprise to his otherwise smooth-as-silk singing style.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Tito Allen's song Borracho No Vale tells the story of a drunk mouse who finds himself drowning in a barrel of wine. He sees the neighbor's cat and asks for help so that he can be rescued. He tells the cat that if he saves him, he promises to let him do whatever he wants with him after his drunkenness subsides, as long as he doesn't eat him. The cat sympathizes with the mouse and agrees to rescue him. Once the mouse is saved, he takes a drunk position and tells the cat that he can do whatever he wants with him. The smart cat decides to let the mouse sleep it off and sets him free, waiting patiently for him outside.
