La Salsa Vive
Tito Nieves Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Ahora viene nuestro hermano
In Tito Nieves's song La Salsa Vive, the artist speaks about having fallen asleep while listening to salsa music and dreaming of the sky where he believes St. Peter is waiting for him. The song then changes to an ode to the late musician Felix Rodriguez, who is described as "inconfundible" and "inmortal" and whose memory lives on through salsa music. The artist goes on to say that salsa music reaches all the way up to heaven and blesses the traditions of the Puerto Rican people, specifically mentioning "el negrito zaparrosa," a reference to salsa music's African roots.
The song then takes a jubilant turn with the introduction of another musician, the "gallero" Feliciano, who brings pure joy and celebration with his music. The artist invites everyone to join in the festivities, with Cheo Feliciano adding his own greetings to the crowd. The song ends with the sentiment that salsa music lives on through its musicians and fans, bringing people of all backgrounds together to dance and celebrate.
