Andreas Haukeland[1] (born 12 April 1993[2]), most known as Tix (stylized as TIX), is a Norwegian musician, producer and songwriter from Bærum, Norway. He got his breakthrough in 2015 with his "russ song" titled "Sjeiken 2015". In 2016, he released his debut album Dømt og berømt, which consists of "russ songs". He has six number-one singles on the Topplista chart in Norway.
He represented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song "Fallen Angel". In March 2022, he released his second studio album Enten går det bra, ellers går det over.
He has Tourette syndrome, a condition characterised by involuntary movements called tics. During his childhood he was bullied for his condition and called "tics", which he later turned into his stage name.[3]
Besides being a musician, Andreas is a mental health awareness advocate, and has shared his experiences with suffering from Tourette syndrome, loneliness and suicidal thoughts.

Btw You should watch this concert he did before he left for Rotterdam. It was for some of his biggest fans from the Tv-show «Haik» on NRK. Haik in Norwegian means the same as in english «hitch-hike» (picked up by a car by the road) cause the concept of this Tv-documentary is that the host picks up different Norwegian artists in her car, outside their homes, and drive them through their home city and surprises them with different things along the way (to give something back since the artists have given so much to their fans). At the end of each program the artist is having a mini-concert in a place and setting they dont know in advance.
In Tix case and because of the corona restrictions his crowd are in/outside their cars. Pretty cool. It was an amazing concert. After rhis concert its where he received «The Norwegian grammy award» which is the most prestigious grammy award an artist/musician can win in Norway

It is deep. Its about depression. A bit about Tix. The reason he is wearing a big coat, bandana and sunglasses is because its part of his character (but he has Touretts syndrom, so its also to hide his tics). When he was younger he was bullied and called Tix, so he decided to take ownership of that «name» and used it as his artist name. His real name is Andreas Haukeland and he is also a songwriter for international artists. Two years ago Andreas/Tix wrote a will and wanted to take his own life. At a party, he completely collapsed, and was desperate to get out of everything.
- I just went home and had decided that enough is enough. I wrote a farewell letter, and then I wrote a wilI, I found a marker and wrote my contact info, all my passwords, my PIN codes on my arm.
- I sat on the floor and cried, and I was so scared, Tix says.
A conversation with his cat Findus who came and laid in his lap was the rescue. This is how the lyrics to one of his many hits were, "I don’t want to live, but I don’t want to die». Song is called «Jeg vil ikke leve» That song was about a moment of desperation while this song «Tusen tårer» (a sequel) is about the depression that follows. His MGP song «Ut av mørket» I feel is a sequel to both songs above and its about being pulled in different directions, between the good/angel and the bad/devil, but also about hope (after a tough period).
btw he almost drowned making this music video. He wanted it to be as real as possible. He had to be rescued. His outfit was heavier than he tought under water and he was exhausted, so he sank further and further down.. (as you can see from the ending of this video)

On the first day of the recording, he was going to be under water for five hours. After every 30 seconds, he got air supply under water, he says, but he got quite tired. In addition, parts of the outfit floated, so he had to use weights to stay under water. But the wetter and heavier the outfit became, the harder it became to swim.
The goal was to really make it look like he was drowning in the last clip of the music video, and Haukeland turned out to want to go a little further than anyone was aware of to get the perfect picture.
- I take my last breath and hold my breath for as long as I can. I will swim to the surface, and have calculated approximately how long I use up. But then I weigh much more than I planned, he says.
It was a roof over the pool and it was completely dark, but under water there was light from all sides. Haukeland lost his sense of direction and swam the wrong way.
- For every swim stroke I took, I got pulled down. I'm not getting up. The coat is so heavy and I am losing muscle. It is easier to sink than to float.
In a way, he got scared, he actually panicked. But they had underwater speakers, so he sank to the sound of his own chorus of "A Thousand Tears."
- It was very special, he says and says:
- At one point I realized "fuck, it does not work", and then there were insanely many thoughts at once. One thought I remember was that it was awfully beautiful. That's why I held my breath for challenge, because I lay there and enjoyed the moment. Besides, we should have that clip.
After a lot of movements to try to get up, a diver comes and pulls him up.

I recently discovered Tix and fell in love with "Fallen Angel" and "Ut Av Mørket". His story, music and image blew me away... he's not only inspirational but extraordinary in so many ways! If he sings some songs in English with his musical uniqueness, I'm sure he can conquer North America and Asia too.
