Their debut album - All Eternity - was released in Finland by the end of that year and the band then signed contracts with Nuclear Blast (for Europe) and Pony Canyon (for Japan). In 2000, the band toured Europe together with Dark Tranquillity, Sentenced and In Flames. Epilogue was released in 2001 and was followed by a tour with Lacrimosa.
The album Jaded was released in 2003 and in August of that year, vocalist Jarno Perätalo left the band. He assembled a new band named Tiaga, integrated by former members of To/Die/For. However, in 2004, Jarno Perätalo and the band Tiaga took the name To/Die/For for themselves, releasing the album IV in 2005.

I'll be there I will follow
Never let you fall alone
We thought we bled all we had
But out momentary joy was a lie
And heavenly moments never last
In the grave of our souls hope lies buried
Life's just a pain we go through
With broken wings me and you
No salvation in view
No angels on our shoulders
Only wolves howling beyond our walls
We thought we bled all we had
But out momentary joy was a lie
And heavenly moments never last
In the grave of our souls hope lies buried
Wasting time in our sweet wicked circle
Life's just a pain we go through
With broken wings me and you
There's no way out
To/Die/For's song "Wicked Circle" is a poignant exploration of the struggles we all face in life. The lyrics convey a sense of loyalty in the face of adversity, with the singer promising to be there, to follow wherever the listener may fall. This is followed by a stark observation about the fleeting nature of happiness, as we realize that our joy is often temporary and ultimately unsustainable. The line "in the grave of our souls hope lies buried" is particularly evocative, suggesting that we often bury our hope and optimism within ourselves.
The chorus returns to the idea of being trapped in a cycle of pain and despair, a "sweet wicked circle" that we cannot escape. The sense of hopelessness is heightened by the absence of any sort of divine intervention, with "no salvation in view" and "no angels on our shoulders." The final line, "there's no way out," is a bleak yet honest acknowledgement of the difficulties we encounter in life. Ultimately, "Wicked Circle" is a song about perseverance in the face of hardship, a reminder that we are not alone, even in our darkest moments.
