Rosario was born in Higuey, a province in the Dominican Republic. Since childhood, he and his brothers showed interest in music, even playing self-created instruments like bottle caps, plastic containers, and others. Soon they started singing and playing in the neighbourhood and started what would later be known as Los Hermanos Rosario with whom he enjoyed great success later.
In the late 80s, after 12 years with his brothers, Toño decided to abandon the group and started his own solo career. He debuted April 14, 1990 in the Roberto Clemente Coliseum of Puerto Rico. He went on to become one of the most popular merengue singers with some of his albums reaching platinum status.
Desnudate Mujer

Estoy palidecido
Y un poco asustado de ti
Me engañaste, tu cuerpo me es extraño
Eres otra mujer desnuda
Yo no sé, por qué me engañas
Si yo, si yo te adoro
Yo te busqué entre mil mujeres
Pero me equivoqué
Con tu cara infantil representaste
Un papel de gran actriz
Si ya se acabó, la comedia terminó
Ya te quité la mascara
Que tanto yo quería
Desnúdate mujer,
Yo quiero ver también
El arte que tu tienes
Cuando haces el amor
Desnúdate mujer
Que estoy dispuesto a todo
Estoy palidecido
Y un poco asustado de ti
Me engañaste, tu cuerpo me es extraño
Eres otra mujer desnuda
Desnúdate mujer, así te quiero ver
Ese arte que tú tienes,
Cuando haces el amor mujer
Mamita tú no me ves que yo estoy vibrando,
Cada vez que yo te miro
Ay, desnúdate, desnúdate mujer,
Porque así yo te quiero ver
Yo te busqué entre miles de mujeres
Pero mamita yo te encontré
Te busqué, te busqué y te encontré
A llegado la oportunidad
De encontrarnos de nuevo otra vez
Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, mamacita
Yo queiro verte también
Y todavía tú me tienes temblando
Y si tú supieras,
De que forma tú me tienes temblando.
The song Desnúdate Mujer by Toño Rosario tells the story of a man who is in love with a woman who has cheated on him. The lyrics express his pain and disbelief that she could betray him, especially when he adores her so much. He questions his own role in the situation, wondering if he should have been more assertive from the beginning. He expresses his desire to see her bare her soul, hoping to understand her motives for her deceit. Despite his anger, he still has strong feelings for her and wants to see her in all her beauty, even if it only brings him temporary relief.
The chorus of this song, "Desnúdate mujer" translates to "Undress woman," which could be seen as objectifying, but the context of the song is that he wants her to reveal her true self to him. He wants to see her in all her complexity, not just the persona she has been projecting. The line "Eres otra mujer desnuda" translates to "You are another naked woman," which speaks to his confusion and sense of betrayal. It's as if he doesn't recognize her once he discovers the truth about her infidelity.
In summary, Desnúdate Mujer is a heart-wrenching song that portrays the emotional turmoil of a man who has been cheated on. It shows his struggle to understand his girlfriend's actions and his desire to see her true self, even if it means confronting uncomfortable truths. The song combines elements of traditional merengue music with contemporary lyrics and serves as a testament to Toño Rosario's ability to merge different styles into a compelling musical narrative.
