*From classic Motown hits from the 60's and 70's
*To power rock ballads from the 70's and 80's
*To the post-modern punk apocalyptic thrash of modern radio
To the Nines exemplifies professionalism, versatility, and the unbridled enthusiasm that differentiates any of the "great party" bands on the circuit. We take requests. We let you get up on stage and sing with us. Ultimately, if your party is at 10, we're at 11.
With To the Nines you get the total package -- complex harmonies and melodies over guitar-driven pop with a live show that leaves many wondering how anyone can jump around like that for 4 hours. This band understands the common thread bound through all of the great music over the past 40 years. You may start out hearing the Jackson 5, then watch the band weave a creative tapestry of 13 or 14 covers that ends with Rage against the Machine, Smokey Robinson or the Counting Crows.
To The Nines' original music has been featured on compilations with Dillon Fence (Hobex), Sex Police, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Capsize 7, Life in General, Dexter Romweber, Athenaeum and June. We've played with Ben Folds, Hootie and the Blowfish, Dillon Fence, Sex Police, Bus Stop, Athenaeum, among many others.
To the Nines recently starred in an original movie "Immortal", available on DVD (under the moniker Grave Danger), where they were showcased as not only the starring band but the five main actors in this nationally distributed movie. They are on the cusp of breaking through, and their shows demonstrate just how live music "should be, but rarely is."
To the Nines pushes boundaries, and represents one of the best examples of live music on the East coast.
Another Day

At just the right moment to save her face
I watch the time go ticking down, the water falling on the ground
I catch myself and try to speak with grace
You needed just enough anger to get you through the door
And you got just enough honesty to make you want a little more
I wish for nothing but the rain
Everything that I've done wrong
Find a way to make you strong
If only for another day
When I'm all alone, just me and my ghosts
Standing three deep, just like sentries at their post
And they make sure I remember just a little more than most
They make sure that I understand the consequence of past
You needed just enough anger to get you through the door
And you got just enough honesty to make you want a little more
I wish for nothing but the rain
To fall and wash away
Everything that I've done wrong
Find a way to make you strong
If only for another day
When you see me chasing daydreams and you know that I'm not there,
I'm not the one who sits across from you, who, returns your stare
And I watch as you grow quiet like you always did
And I wait to get what I deserve
It's the part that doesn't die that makes it hurt...
Here's another day, she waits and pulls herself away
At just the right moment to save her face
I watch the time go ticking down, the water falling on the ground
I catch myself and try to speak with grace
I wish for nothing but the rain
To fall and wash away
Everything that I've done wrong
Find a way to make you strong
If only for another day
If only for another day
