Over the years there has been a revolving cast of musicians that contribute to their recordings and performances. As of 2006, horn player Danny Levin (The Ventriloquists, Rilo Kiley, etc) and keyboardist Max Heath (Jon Rodgers, Ghost Notes, Anthony Braxton) are the latest official members of Toca. Toca plays a diverse mixture of experimental pop fusion which may brings to mind influences as varied as Os Mutantes, Mr. Bungle, Freestyle Fellowship, Lambert Hendricks and Ross, Frank Zappa, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Beach Boys and The Beatles. They've collaborated with many hip hop artists including Aceyalone and Mikah 9 of the Freestyle Fellowship, Busdriver, 2Mex, Abstract Rude, The Shapeshifters and more. Toca's debut album will be released on Snoop Dogg affiliated label "Two Tone Elephants" in spring, 2007. Right as the album was about to come out, the band got into a fight because Tommy V apparently wanted to the band members to perform naked wrapped in saran wrap! The other members disagreed and thought that body paint would be better! This triggered an avalanche of hostile emotions and on the day of the album release, and after a slew of resentful text messages, the band broke up! Now they all hate each other a write mean songs about one another! Long Live Toca!
