I've got chills reading all your comments. Filipina here. It is true that some filipina are looking for foreigners to get out their family in poverty,but that is not the case all the times.
Many had been cheated on or left 'cause they chose Filipinas who are uneducated and have the idea of marrying a foreigner for "greener pasteur" . Once these women get something from you and fall out of love; one day you'll just end up broken and look for someone within their "age range".
I've seen and heard unending stories about this case. Even my students have these perception that marrying a foreigner means "saving your whole family in poverty" . A sad reality but this stereotyping will live through years.
All I can say is, find a woman who is well-educated, who's earning a living, has a good demeanor, and family-oriented. Never settle to those who can give you good sex.
These apply to all, not just to Filipino women.

So true and I’ve witnessed it with my own eyes. I had a friend who turned into Scarface when he had like 5 grand lol. I had a close group of friends and once money got involved we all started arguing and almost fist fighting. I knew it would happen because I know how a few of them were with money. Very cheap and greedy, once they realized I had more money they turned on me lol. One of them ended up stealing about 1200 bucks from me and disappeared. The day I see him, he’s going to regret what he did. One thing I hate is thieves, and ESPECIALLY sneaky thieves who steal from family and friends. He was so paranoid about it he basically gave himself up. At first I just couldn’t believe he stole but he’s so dumb he basically confirmed it. I’m going to break his nose so bad and steal his car, until he pays me back with interest he’s not getting his car back. If someone owes you money just take their phone, car or even car keys. Another thing you can do is act like your going to show up to their job. Nobody wants to get embarrassed in front of their boss or employees.

I have a very high opinion of Filipinas and Philipino people in general. I had a very serious Filipina girlfriend in the mid-70's while was in the Marines. She was fantastic. Warm, nurturing, great cook, fun and very sexy. Cukturally, they are ver friendly and easy going people in grneral. I was very young and nit at the time ready to get married, unfirtunately. I hate when people make generalizations about an entire group of people. I know lots of Filipinos, both from America and the country itself. I know some that are dirt poor and some that are rich even by western standards. Overall, they have a great many warm-hearted, family-oriented people in their nation. When you get in the big cities, you are more likely to encounter some of the same relationship problems that you would have in any other metropolis. Provincial people are much more traditional.

However, you appear to have missed the thrust of my post. I do hate when generalizations are made “about an entire group of people.” Now, I have no problem with recognizing the need for generalizations when referring to the entire human race. There are of course certain traits that are more common among males than there are among females, and vice versa. I also agree that you will more likely find certain cultural traits in some countries than you will in others. The intent of my original post was to give a broader view of Filipinos in general, and Filipinas in particular. I’m not ignoring the truth that the nation has its share of “gold diggers.” I’m just trying to give a more balanced view of the country as a whole. It was not meant as an attack against you in particular, or anyone of a differing viewpoint in general. I was just trying to add some perspective to the discussion. Some people in the thread have never left their “corner” of the globe. Some people in similar threads have expressed interest in what the country and its people are like. They grow up listening to American music, watching American movies and absorbing general western culture. Makes them a lot more easier to understand and vice verse than Thai, Chinese, Koreans, Japanese etc.. My personal take is that the Philippines have women of greater physical variety. Some look Malay, mixed or Hispanic. The other Asians just all look Oriental, with no variety.

I have eaten a lot of Filipino food and I do like some of it but over all I like Thai food so much more. The spices are just so much better. But I understand that we each have our own likes and dislikes. I have also eaten a lot of Japanese food and liked it but the same problem was a lack of spice for me. Far from the best. Been going there since I was 18. I’m decently attractive. Had my share of them for free. I’ve also had many who say foreigners are for money. Or will flat out stop talking to you if you don’t give them anything lol. Also pretty much every phillipino female I met brought in America usually end up leaving there partner once they get settled. Granted if your in relationship with someone no where near your age and have little to nothing in common. You should know what it is. Age is not just a number. Same with attractiveness.
