Bright
Tokyo Shoegazer Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I close my eyes slowly.
Fearful of the real world.
Everything goes white.
I can't see anything.
Your whisper is also gone.
What can I do?
A world of long silence.
A clear heart and clear eyes.
I'm looking for something.
But I don't know what it is.
I want to find it.

Far away, yet so close.
But I can see only you.
I'm relying on the slightest hope.
The world's been colored pure white.
But I can see only you.
I'm relying on the slightest hope.

You close your eyes slowly.
Fearful of the real world.
Everything goes black.
I can't see anything.
It has gone out of view and your mind has changed.
A world of long silence.
She gazes at me with a sad look.

Far away, yet so close.
But I can see only you.
I'm relying on the slightest hope.
The world's been colored pure white.

But I can see only you.
I'm relying on the slightest hope.

@TatsuhiroTheKidA

please ppl, come here more, this band should be known wider

@ryant1090

This song is absolutely awesome. Right up there with When The Sun Hits by Slowdive. I know that might be blasphemous to say, but I don't care.

@evanever

Weird that I was just thinking about my favourite shoegaze tracks and simultaneously opened this and When The Sun Hits.

@MMZS528

you can say what you want really. To equate your opinion as something blasphemous as if to say that a song by slowdive was sacred, that just seems silly. Here's a blasphemous take: most of the shoegaze tracks I've heard are formulaic and boring. This is one of them. I've always thought that a lot of great shoegaze tracks lean towards the saccharine pop of the 1970s and are not so reliant on this heavily repeated technique of droning guitars. Now if shoegaze has become exactly this technique as to define the entire genre, then a lot has really changed since the 1990s when it wasnt so well defined and could include bands like the cocteau twins, bloody valentine, coaltar of the deepers, galaxie 500, pale saints all the way to the carpenters, selected sonic youth and broadcast songs. If that's the case, then the genre is really dead and has me cringing

@jeppyjep

When The Sun Hits isnt even the best shoegaze song. Ride, Chapterhouse, Lush, Curve and Swervedriver have better songs that that.

@servandomoreno3066

shoegaze cat UwU

@i7ami

Was looking for the video with the cat surrounded by thousands of guitar pedals, but this video is nice and super melancholic, the emotion I long for when I'm looking for Shoegaze and Dreampop songs. Thank you for this upload and for making this art <3.
