Indiana
Tom Aspaul Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I realize, realize, we get a little bit wild sometimes
And I am numb, I am numb to what we have become sometimes
So slip away with me, stay with me, everything's okay with me right
Don't have to run, have to run, we can walk in the sun one last time

And it feels
Yeah, it feels so good
When you're here
We are near to love

People come, people go, but I'd like to get to know you now
What is wrong with me, wrong when we want you to belong to me now
So come away with me, stay with me, I will stop behaving right
And I don't have anything to tie me down tonight

And it feels
Yeah, it feels so good
When you're here
We are near to love

Not giving up, no
If it feels so good
When you're here, so close
We are near to love.

When I can't slow down
And I need you now
And I can't slow down
And I need you now
And I need you now

And it feels
Yeah, it feels so good
When you're here (when you're here 2x)
We are near to love
Not giving up, no (not giving up 3x)
If it feels so good
When you're, so close
We are near to love.

Not giving up, Not giving up, Not giving up

Not giving up, Not giving up, Not giving up
Don't have to run, have to run, we can walk in the sun one last time

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Tom Aspaul's song "Indiana" express the ups and downs of a relationship that is at a crossroads. The repeated phrase "I am numb, I am numb to what we have become sometimes" highlights a sense of detachment and loss of feeling in the relationship. However, the chorus provides a glimmer of hope, as the singer expresses how good it feels to be near their partner and how they are not giving up on the relationship just yet. The bridge of the song brings in a sense of urgency, with the repeated line "And I need you now" emphasizing the importance of the connection between the two people.

The line "we can walk in the sun one last time" adds a melancholic aspect to the song, suggesting that the relationship may be coming to an end, but the singer wants to cherish the final moments they have together. Overall, the lyrics of "Indiana" explore the complexities of a relationship that has hit a rough patch while also expressing hope for the future.

OMG! Never new the Kylie track FEELS SO GOOD (one of my favourite tracks from the Kiss Me Once album) was a remake. <3 both Tom & Kylie's version :-)

I guess it made sense for Kylie to change the title when she recorded her vocals to this song since you can't hear "Indiana" in the lyrics like you can hear "feels so good." through, she actually co-wrote a song called "Feels So Good" which was a leftover Fever song, which Atomic Kitten recorded and named their album after
