Notice how Deadshot changes when he realizes the rounds are live. He smells the gun smoke and it's like he's high. This is a man who's entire live was based around shooting and after going so long (about 9 months) without touching a gun, he feels alive again and a sense of familiarity and I like how well the movie shows this.

Gotham is never going to be safe but every day he's alive (the persona not Bruce Wayne) the city gets more dangerous

As an ex-military man, I think the most impressive and frustrating thing for them is how could a man with no formal military or police training not only pull off head shots like that but maintain consistency with his shooting. I think deadshot is a meta human in the comic.

There's a lot of factors involved. Many villains, different reasons. It could be keeping him alive cuz they don't want to take responsibility of larger consequences/threats, keeping him alive cuz they wanted honorable execution, they want him to cover for them, play with him, or let him suffer as "he" suffer. I don't like this movie, but I love this scene. The moment where he smells the gun powder, realizes the gun is actually loaded, knows that they're nuts for giving him a loaded gun, but still has to show off his skills is the best part of the whole movie.

That was awesome! I like how the swapped rolls the head lady and her second in command for the second one. He becomes the nice guy and she becomes the bad guy. Works way better. Will smith definitely a bad ass bloodshot or deathstroke

I think people really undersell and underestimate Deadshot’s skill. Shooting isn’t easy at all, there’s so much variables to nailing a target in general, let alone consistent headshots. Compensation for distance, wind, arc, bullet drop, movement speed of the target, if you blink wrong you have a chance to miss. Deadshot calculates all of this in a fraction of a second multiple times with so many different weapons. Yes he has plenty of gear to help him out, but all it does (at least what was shown in the movie) is give him measurements, so he’s still doing all that math in his head that fast.

I am not so sure that anyone undersells or underestimates his skill so much as recognize it is entirely unbelievable. Bullet's literally suffer from randomness due to microfactors and imperfections in the rounds themselves. It is pretty much impossible to land a shot the way he does with no ever so slight variations. If it were millimeters of difference, then it would be more believable imo Otherwise, he can't be doing any calculations or adjustments and would have to be controlling the bullets themselves so that they always land on a certain point through some sort of physic/magic phenomena.

But yea yea, I know. This is a superhero/supervillain film.

For the record, Deadshot doesn't ever miss, all of his shots are deflected by Batman (others like Superman are exempt from this). Whenever he fights Batman he uses split point bullets so they ricochet to hit him, which is why Batman always takes him head-on and blocks his bullets or uses leverage

This movie was really better than folks made it out to be. Will was excellent as Deadshot, pretty much owned nearly every scene he was in with the exception of when Harley was onscreen.

The Suicide Squad followed this template, made significant upgrades and we got something even better the next time out. I didn't even mind Leto as Joker, moreso that they deviated from the source material and had him trying to bust Harley out.

It’s obviously not an OP superpower like El Diablo or Croc etc but it is super underrated in what Deadshot has done. There’s all these super humans and aliens on earth who could kill him with a slap, so he’s trained and essentially dedicated his life to mastering combat with one of Humanity’s most dangerous archetype of weapon. Honestly more than anything, regardless of the fact that he’s an assassin for hire in the comics, it takes true dedication.
