I am helping to keep my family together, even if it means making sacrifices that hurt my own situation.

The ups and downs of touring as a musician are taking a toll on me, financially and emotionally.

But what I done it for?
I question why I continue to put myself through these struggles and hardships in the pursuit of my music career.

To see my mother in the sun abroad
One of the few things that makes it all worth it is being able to provide for and spend time with my family, especially my mother.

I run into trouble, it was coming for
I knew that my situation would be difficult, but I didn't anticipate just how tough it would be.

My little brother got the hunger for
I see the same drive and ambition in my younger brother, which both inspires and worries me.

All the exact same pain
He is going through similar struggles as I am, and it hurts me to see him suffer as well.

That makes the rain my stomach pour
The stress and anxiety of it all often feels like a downpour of rain in my gut.

So let me paint it broader
I want to broaden my perspective and reach more people with my music, beyond just my own struggles and pain.

This for any dude who's got a daughter
I want my music to speak to anyone who is a parent, especially fathers who want to provide for and protect their daughters.

Living off lines that your papa taught her
I want to inspire and pass along the wisdom that my own father passed down to me.

Ain't got no time to be coming for you
I'm too busy trying to make my own way and take care of my loved ones to engage in drama or conflict with others.

Go with the flow of this running water
I'm choosing to embrace the natural flow of life, and let it carry me where it will.

I want to reassure others that everything will be alright, despite the struggles and setbacks we face.

Two leaves won't grow the same
No two people, experiences, or situations will ever be exactly alike - we are all unique and our journeys will reflect that.

Fame and success are fickle, and people may not always remember or appreciate who you are and what you've accomplished.

Doesn't matter if they do
However, that doesn't diminish the value and importance of what we do, and we should still be proud of our work.

When the hot coffee pours will stain
Life will sometimes leave us with scars or stains, but that doesn't make us any less beautiful or worthwhile.

And when the Uber left you in the rain
We will all face moments of disappointment and heartbreak, but those moments don't define us or determine our future.

Given enough patience, hard work, and resilience, we will eventually find the success and happiness we seek.

Despite the stress of spending so much time alone
Even though it can be difficult and lonely at times, I am willing to make sacrifices to pursue my passion and improve my craft.
