Thanks for the upload Bob. As someone with an interest in all kinds of music and their processes of recording, I find your detailed descriptions pleasant and informative. Keep it up

Bob was a binge drinker.  If he failed to appear at a dance, the band only got union scale. So, when Bob heard Tommy getting vocal about it, he asked Eldon Shamblin to fire him. Tommy took several band members with him and signed with Capitol.

Sometimes they didn't get that. I know of one gig where the house refused to pay anything at all, because the contract was for Bob Wills, and he didn't show. Eldon remembered that one ~40 years later.

So Tommy Duncan recorded Mississippi River Blues with Bob Wills "as" Mississippi Delta Blues?. Of course not, those are two entirely different songs. Delta was written by Jack Neville. Jimmie Rodgers alone is credited with River, but it has been suggested that Elsie McWilliams contributed substantially.

Bob Wills was insensed that Tommy Duncan was commanding too much Attention, so he had Eldon Shamblin fire him. Bad Move for Wills, Duncan was the Greatest Voice in the Business.
