It would surely be a hard task to find a male vocalist from the 40's till now 22 years into the 21st century who could handle a ballad as well as TE . His beautiful sound surely exceeds other singers who were and are considered stars. That silky smooth beautiful voice with the back beat simply goes unmatched. This type of singing is past but my oh my not forgotten by many. Back in time you could not play the radio no matter what station , and not hear , It's All In The Game . In 1958, I was 9 years old, my family and I were driving to to the beach in southern Calif. when this song came on the car radio. My mom turned around and said: "This is my absolute favorite song". I have always remembered Tommy Edwards from that day on. Such a awesome voice! I could listen to his music all day long. So much better than most of the "crap" they call music these days. Tommy Edwards will live on through his music.

It all seemed remarkably modern. Everybody, like everybody had something to live for. Unfortunately, TB was still rife and we all thought that everyone had the germ but some developed it and some didn't. We thought the same about cancer too. The girls dressed to kill and wanted to be female and feminine in high heeled shoes. Not like the tattooed scruffs with weird colour hair.of today.

I was a “baby-boomer” born in the late 40’s. As a child, I remember watching my parents embrace and dance around the living room to many tunes like this one. Also, I had a close friend 9 years older than me who played the saxophone and who was exposed to big band and original jazz music. He told me something that I have never forgotten. He said, “The 50’s decade was the last decade of innocence”. May those times never be forgotten.

This is my moms #1 song of all time. She gave me my life long love for Doo-Wop. When she died in 1975 just before I said goodbye for last time and her casket was closed, I put the worn out 45 of Tommy singing this sing in her casket.Told her thanks mom. Their voices did not contain black stereotyped voices. What does a young boy conclude when he has no television and gets no entertainment magazine or other publications? I had to read someone else's magazines later to find out these performers were black. I liked the songs regardless, but my ignorance of the world beyond my own limited world allowed me to think only whites were singing to me. SURPRISE! SURPRISE! SURPRISE!

I love Tommy and his hit song. Just months before this hit song came out my dad took me to a lounge right outside Pittsburgh for a drink. I was only 18 at the time (please don't tell on me). Tommy Edwards was the lounge entertainment. My dad and I sat at the bar. After Tommy finished his set he came over and was standing at the end of the bar. My dad invited him to sit and have a drink with us which he graciously accepted. He was such a gentleman in addition to being a wonderful singer.

my dad went to vietnam .he died .. my mom said they slow jammed danced to this three days before he shipped out .. that was in 1969.. i was 3 yrs old then .. shot down he was a helicopter pilot..she played this for years holding his pic close to her.. dont remember much about him...but this song makes me cry mom cried for years sfter he died..over there.sgt.lamar williams us army..my husband was in afganistan , and i listen and understand what she must have felt, he made it home last december , thank god he came home .....

I'm 70 now. I remember this song as if it played yesterday. My parents, bless them, were great dancers and had the radio playing all my childhood days, exposing me to songs and singers like Tommy Edwards. Ah, the fabulous 50s and 60s! Dad would whistle all day. And both of them could sing too. Well, none of those gifts passed onto me sadly, but beautiful memories remain. I do have other gifts haha!

I am a former Marine I didnt go to the Nam but I wish I would have. I am a military Scion and feel I didnt serve my country the way I should have. My buddy in ITR training Eddie Quell got the Silver Star on his first tour and he was there again volunteering to go again. He cared for his soldiers. We will miss him. John Humphrey USMC 1967-1971. Your Dad is a very good man to be proud of. My great grandfather got the Congressional Medal of Honor and I admire him for his 44 yrs of service along with all my other past family Military folks.You are blessed. The old songs of the 60s are dynamite.

These types of songs are haunting. As someone that has severed relations with his parents (long story) I still remember these songs playing while in the backseat during family trips.
