He sang love ballads mostly, Acheiving Imortality with the hit single "It's All in the Game" He released more than 6 albums. He had an untimely death at the age of 47 from a brain aneurysm.

WOR-FM was a cool, & classy sounding station. My Dad worked for Bill Drake in Fresno at KYNO the Big 13 back in 1966. He was a Boss Jock. Drake was a master programmer & very successful too. Thanks for the great memories.

The 1971 retrospectives at RKO radio for that year were not in any numeric order. They were played all during the last weekend of the year as "The Sound of '71". KGB, KHJ and KFRC all did that arrangement at the close of the year. On this aircheck, you can hear a reference to the year end event called the sound of '71. I have airchecks of Bobby Ocean promoting this on KGB. He was the program director after Charlie Van Dyke was fired. Same with KHJ, although I can't remember who was the
VO on their promos.

By 1968 most ny radio stations stopped playing oldies this station was a blessing for oldies fans I was 20 years old in 68 loved this station I had a roof fm antenna came in very clear
