Nomansland
Tommy Reeve Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm looking out of my window,
And it's raining in my head
I don't miss the summer breath,
What I miss is you instead,
I don't miss the sunday morning,
I don't miss the summer night
I miss laying here beside you,
Cause it's cold outside
Am I wrong, am I right, is it black, is it white
I don't know what I should do
Cause I'm lost without you
Am I wrong, am I right, is it black, is it white
There's a rhythm in my heart and in my head
That's reflecting every moment that we both had
And I never stop to feel and try to understand
Without you I'm lost in nomansland
I'm driving in my car, with my thoughts drifting away
I remember kissing you, on a hot summer day
I don't need no explanation,
I don't need no faritale
I just need you here beside me,
Cause I'm about to fail
Am I wrong, am I right, is it day, is it night
I don't know what I should do cause I'm lost without you
There's a rhythm in my heart and in my head
That's reflecting every moment that we both had
And I never stop to feel and try to understand
Without you I'm lost in nomansland
I'm looking out of my window,
And it's raining in my head
I don't miss the summer breath,
What I miss is you instead,
I don't miss the sunday morning,
I don't miss the summer night
I miss laying here beside you,
Cause it's cold outside
There's a rhythm in my heart and in my head
That's reflecting every moment that we both had
And I never stop to feel and try to understand
Without you I'm lost in nomansland
There's a rhythm in my heart and in my head
That's reflecting every moment that we both had
And I never stop to feel and try to understand
Without you I'm lost in nomansland
There's a rhythm in my heart and in my head
That's reflecting every moment that we both had

And I never stop to feel and try to understand
Without you I'm lost in nomansland

Overall Meaning

In Tommy Reeve's song "Nomansland," the singer is struggling with the loss of a loved one, presumably a romantic partner. The lyrics describe his feelings of emptiness and confusion as he tries to navigate life without this person. He looks out his window and sees only rain, a metaphor for the sadness and despair he feels inside. He acknowledges that he doesn't miss the external trappings of life, like summer days and Sunday mornings, but instead misses the simple comfort of being with this person. The singer has a sense of desperation, admitting that he doesn't know what to do without his partner and feeling like he's about to fail.

Throughout the song, Reeve uses the metaphor of a rhythm in his heart and head to represent the memories he shares with this person. He reflects on every moment they had together and never stops trying to understand the significance of their relationship. Without this person, he describes himself as being lost in "nomansland," a place of confusion and isolation.

Overall, "Nomansland" is a poignant and emotional exploration of the pain of losing someone you love. The lyrics capture the feeling of being adrift and uncertain, while also conveying a deep sense of longing for what once was.

My mom tends to be a pretty chill person when it comes to movies, but when Lynda Carter turned and faced the camera my mom squealed like a teenage fangirl and said "She's the original Wonder Woman! I used to watch her on TV!" It was so cute seeing my mom return to her childhood self for a minute; it definitely made me smile. :)

@badgirlhollywood9741

That’s funny “I’ve been doing this for a long time”

@mhm8922

I did EXACTLY the same thing. I - LITERALLY - LOST - MY - MIND when I saw Lynda Carter. I was totally on a high. My son was like, “Mom, calm down.” I got so emotional. I’m losing my mind right now from just seeing this clip again. I wish, wish, wish that they would do a sequel with Lynda in it, telling the story of this warrior.

@johnleos1687

NOT TRUE! 😲. The original Wonder Woman was a Blonde, I believe her name was Cathy Lee Crosby! 🤨
To tell the truth I loved watching them both! 😉😃

@rickovery

That may be, but Linda Carter is the name that comes up in almost everyone's mind when someone mentions Wonder Woman.

@johnleos1687

@@rickovery I doubt it's her "name" that people think of when they think of Linda Carter in the Wonder Woman costume! 🤨👠 If that's what they think of they are weird! 🤣😆😂🦸🦇

What an absolutely wonderful surprise. In the movie, Asteria is described as “first among Amazons” and the greatest of them all because of her heroism—casting Lynda Carter, the ORIGINAL Wonder Woman (and thus the true “first among Amazons”) is the perfect choice. There are also plenty of small details to remind us: notice the large bracelets we see peeking under her cloak, and how she reveals herself by spinning around, a neat homage to the famous spinning transformation sequence from the series. And then it’s perfectly capped with that wink—Ms. Carter truly HAS “been doing this a long time,” inspiring people all over the world (but especially little girls— “You saved my daughter!”) into believing they could be superheroes, too. Without Lynda Carter, there would be no Wonder Woman movies. Thank you for your long legacy, Ms. Carter! :D

@Dominasty

What a great, wholesome comment. You're a good dude.

@WonderWomanTVHD

Yes, and her bracelets were gold, which was a nice touch.

@craigharvey-gurr337

That came at a huge surprise to me!
