Holy Spirit... come...
The song “Holy Spirit Come” by Tommy Walker is a worship song that expresses the desire for the Holy Spirit to come and take over our lives. As Christians, we believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, and that He dwells in us when we believe in Jesus. The song begins with a prayer for the Holy Spirit to come and move in our lives, to take His rightful place in us, meaning that we give Him control and authority over every aspect of our lives. The song then moves on to request the Holy Spirit to bring His hope, love, joy, and peace into our lives, to breathe new life in us.
The chorus repeats the same prayer multiple times, emphasizing the desire for the Holy Spirit to come and reign. There is a sense of urgency in the song, as the singer asks the Holy Spirit to let His wind blow strong and give us strength to carry on. This is a reminder that as human beings, we are weak and need the Holy Spirit’s strength and power to overcome life’s challenges. The last line of the song is a simple plea for the Holy Spirit to come, which is repeated multiple times. The song is an invitation for the Holy Spirit to come and have His way in our lives.
