He later experimented with jazz rock fusion and combined it with his classical training, as can be heard on Chromaticity (2001). He has released many solo albums in his career. Some of his other projects include CAB, Planet X, Steve Vai and Ring of Fire.

I've met Tony twice . Once at NAMM and once at a clinic in North Wales ,Pa and he's as amazing a person as he is a guitarist/musician. He's so underrated that it's sad,but there are many musicians that are over looked. He's a monster and he's been killing it for over 3 decades. This is my favorite song from him and its on Maximum Security. Great album and great guests on this album such as George Lynch, Jeff Watson, Dean Castranovo, Atma Anur. Phenomenal Album
