Grab the microphone, spit this game at you
It never ends, I just keep goin'
Pimps keep pimpin', Hoez keep ho-in'
And niggaz like me, never stop hustlin'
Put yo' mind to it, makin' money ain't nothin'
I flip the script, came with this nation-wide shit
All I get is love, so that's all you gonna get
Trynna relocate, trynna become playaz
Tryin' to survive the game you know it ain't easy
That's why they roll with the homeboy sheezy
I got about a quarter-million hardcore troops
We got niggaz in yo' town too
So if it ain't you I hope you gots no problem
'Cause we might have ta solve 'em
From city to city, we got your back
Ain't nothin but pimps and G'z, we ride like that
Keepin' the top drop, maintainin' that bump in yo' trunk
Affiliated with us so you know it's gon' bump
We nation riders, we lead the resident
Verbal assasinators, and dog is the president
First round draft picks from all over the world
Get ready to lock and load, and let the drama unfold
Niggaz always tryin' ta slip me demos
Backstage chillin, gettin' in the limo
But i dun' click up with these nation wide niggaz
You ain't already bumpin' and you can't ride wid us
Natural born killaz, boys in the hood can ya fil' us?
We make the noise sound good, This ain't a game
We ain't trippin' dummy, we nation wide man, we just gettin' money
Basin' A-T-L, we got tapes for sale
And if you real G'z, we got CD's
House hip hop, booty shake, west coast
We the kinda niggaz make ya loose your best hoe
Where she at? They got her on the tour bus, way in t
The first verse of "Nation Riders Anthem" by Too $hort is about his experience as a rap artist traveling around the country with his crew. As he arrives in Atlanta, he mentions the “dangerous crew” with him, which could refer to both his entourage and perhaps to his rap group "Dangerous Crew". He refers to his microphone as a weapon (“grab the microphone, spit this game at you”) as he continues to hustle and make money. He reels off stereotypes of pimps, hoes, and hustlers, and declares that he is one of them. He also mentions the difficulty of surviving in this game and staying on top, which is why he travels with his crew. Too $hort has an extensive history of rapping about the pimp lifestyle and how to survive in the streets, which he intertwines with his music.
The chorus of the song has Too $hort introducing himself and his crew as nation riders. He highlights that the group is made up of pimps and Gs and they “ride” hard in city-to-city performances, and maintain their authentic sound. The second verse starts with Too $hort talking about his popularity as a rap artist, referring to fans slipping him demos backstage. He, however, emphasizes that he only rolls with his “nation-wide n*****”. He calls himself and his crew natural-born killaz, emphasizing their strength in the rap game. Too $hort ends the second verse by promoting his music, tapes, CDs, and shows. He calls out to all real G’s to come and join him.

Whoever mixed the vocals on this song is genius. The chanting of "We Are The Nation Riders" and the actual chorus sounds awesome. That's very hard to do. But they did a great job

Yeah this song is hard as hell. and I forgot that $hort didn't spit a verse on this song but it was on Cant Stay Away. I was totally surprised when I heard this song, because this ain't even the type of beats and songs that $hort really rap on because he usually be on pimp shit... 95 percent of the time. Love the beat and the lyrics, especially the instruments and sound effects on the track. Classic for sure. And the funny thing is... is that my mom bought this album for me because it was on sale at Best Buy... So this album will always be one to remember.
