1) Toofan … Read Full Bio ↴There are two different known artists that go by Toofan.
1) Toofan Ataee (Persian: طوفان عطایی), Astara, Iran - 2012 L.A. US, an Iranian-American pop star.
2) Toofan is a musical group founded in 2005 in Togo composed of Mastajust and Barabas.
They are childhood friends who grew up together: Masterjust (Fatowou Kossivi Sourou), mixer of the group, Barabas (Blaise Mensah Ayaho) known as “The Magician”, rapper of the group, and Allone (Akue Goeh Adote), singer and mixer.
Being three at the start of their career, they now form a duo composed of Masterjust and Barabas, Allone having emigrated to Europe where he continues his musical career. They are the authors of the concept “ogbragada” which is a musical mixture of hip-hop and African rhythm in general and Togolese in particular.
In 2006, on the occasion of Togo's participation in the World Cup, the trio composed an anthem for the national team, the Eperviers du Togo titled Eperviers Ogbragada. The same year, after the departure of the third member Allone, the duo Master Just and Barabas launched a new concept: “cool-catché”. The instrumental and choreography were new in the West African musical sphere. The group is also known for a new concept, “Gweta”, which appeared in 2013 and whose gestures aim to “dodge the jealous”. The Gweta is a collective creation between Toofan and the group Tach Noir.
The group composed the anthems for the 2012 and 2015 African Cup of Nations. The group signed with Universal Music France in 2017. Toofan was awarded as best African pop artist and best African group at the All Africa Music Awards 2017, then as best African group and best French-speaking artist at the All Africa Music Awards 2018. In 2023 they were awarded Best West African Artist/Group at the Jayli awards.

teré is a popular song by the Togolese music duo Toofan. The lyrics of the song revolve around the authors' expression of excitement about a beautiful and attractive lady who they refer to as their "bébé." The song starts with the line "Teré teré," which is actually an onomatopoeic expression used to connote the sound of a rattle or a shaker, symbolizing the rhythmic and danceable nature of the song. The authors then introduce themselves as "Nani, nané Toofan" before addressing the lady and encouraging her to come and dance with them by saying "Camon camon bebe." They also refer to themselves as "daddy sugar" while telling her that her beauty is fascinating, all in an attempt to woo her.
The second stanza of the song further highlights the authors' admiration for the lady. Using words like "la fi la fi bémé" and "teréré," they describe her as their elegant "sedan," as they urge her to come to dance with them. This stanza further emphasizes the song's rhythmic nature, which is tailored for dancing and having fun.
In summary, Teré teré is a love song that is well-suited for dancing and having fun. The song is written in a simple but catchy way, applying repetitive phrases and onomatopoeic expressions to create an exciting and vibrant tune.
