Tool Lyrics

What's coming through is alive
What's holding up is a mirror
But what's singing songs is a snake
Looking to turn this piss to wine
They're both totally void of hate
But killing me just the same
The snake behind me hisses
What my damage could have been
My blood before me begs me
Open up my heart again
And I feel this coming over like a storm again
Considerately

Venomous voice, tempts me
Drains me, bleeds me
Leaves me cracked and empty
Drags me down like some sweet gravity

The snake behind me hisses
What my damage could have been
My blood before me begs me
Open up my heart again
And I feel this coming over like a storm again
And I feel this coming over like a storm again

I am too connected to you to
Slip away, to fade away
Days away I still feel you
Touching me, changing me
And considerately killing me
And considerately killing me
And considerately killing me
And considerately killing me

Without the skin
Beneath the storm
Under these tears
The walls came down
And the snake is drowned and
As I look in his eyes
My fear begins to fade
Recalling all of those times
I could have cried then
I should have cried then
And as the walls come down and
As I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade
Recalling all of the times
I have died
And will die
It's all right
I don't mind
I don't mind
I don't mind
I am too connected to you to
Slip away, to fade away
Days away I still feel you
Touching me, changing me
And considerately killing me
And considerately killing me
And considerately killing me

What's coming through is a lie
What's holding up is a mirror
But what's singing songs is a snake
Looking to turn this piss to wine
They're both totally void of hate
But killing me just the same
The snake behind me hisses
What my damage could have been
My blood before me begs me
Open up my heart again
And I feel this coming over like a storm again
Considerately

Drags me down like some sweet gravity

The snake behind me hisses
What my damage could have been
My blood before me begs me

And I feel this coming over like a storm again
And I feel this coming over like a storm again

I am too connected to you to
Slip away, to fade away
Days away I still feel you
Touching me, changing me
And considerately killing me
And considerately killing me
And considerately killing me
And considerately killing me

[Verse 1]
What's coming through is alive
What's holding up is a mirror
But what's singing songs is a snake, it is
Lookin' to turn my piss to wine
They're both totally void of hate, and...
Killin' me just the same

[Refrain]
The snake behind me hisses
What my damage could have been
My blood before me begs me
Open up my heart again
And I feel this coming over like a storm again
Considerately

[Verse 2]
Venomous voice, tempts me
And drains me, bleeds me
Leaves me cracked and empty
Drags me down like some sweet gravity

[Refrain]
The snake behind me hisses
What my damage could have been
My blood before me begs me
Open up my heart again
And I feel this coming over like a storm again, now
And I feel this coming over like a storm again, now

[Chorus]
I am too connected to you
To slip away, to fade away
Days away, I still feel you
Touching me, changing me

[Post-Chorus]
And considerately killing me
Considerately killing me
Considerately killing me
Considerately killing me

[Verse 3]
Without the skin, here
Beneath the storm
Under these tears, now
The walls came down
Once the snake is drowned
And as I look in his eyes
My fear begins to fade
Recalling all of the times
I could have cried then
I should have cried then
As the walls come down and
As I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade
Recalling all of the times
I have died
And will die
It's alright

[Pre-Chorus]
I don't mind
I don't mind
I don't mind

[Chorus]
I am too connected to you
To slip away and fade away
Days away, I still feel you
Touching me, changing me

[Post-Chorus]
And considerately killing me
Considerately killing me, yeah
Considerately killing me

Without Words

A Heavy Hindrance is the Hand of Heaven and Hell. Happily Heaving Hope to the Helpless. Hungrily Hoarding Hopelessness for the Hateful. Heartily Humming Hymns to the Haggard. Hissing Hushed Harangues at the Hedonist. Hurriedly Hoisting Hearts to the Heights. Horridly Hefting Heads into Huge Holes. Heroically Having Hibernacula for the Homeless. Hazily Hanging Heat over the Hellbent Haters.

How many Helpful words start with H?

Heck... Hundreds.

@kuszynier right...even if one reason is not the exact reason or interpretation to he does not mean it was not ..to she..or him ..or her..and that is why I believe the band was for the longest reluctant to explain meaning behind the lyrics..well in all that time..we came to our own meaning and resolution of an understanding that was awesome. Of coarse if some relevant material pertaining to meaning behind the lyrics post period <years after original release > such as live interviews with band members revealing explanations that are also valid, this does not change your own personal experience or <rightness> or wrongness of how you interpreted the lyrics. Indeed how could they considering the years between subsequent delivery of masterful lyrical poetic expression..and said present realization in this time...
