1. Toronto was a Canadian rock band from the late seventies and early eighties who have been compared to Heart and Pat Benatar. They were formed in the late 1970s in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, when singer Annie "Holly" Woods met guitarist Brian Allen. The band's constantly shifting line-up was originally augmented by guitarist/backing vocalist Sharon Alton, keyboardist Scott Kreyer, bassist Nick Costello, and drummer Jimmy Fox.
Their first album, Lookin' for Trouble, was released in 1980, and the title track was a Top 40 hit in Canada. Head On (1981) followed , after which Costello and Fox left the band to be replaced by Gary LaLonde (later of Honeymoon Suite) and Barry Connors (later of Coney Hatch).
This sextet recorded Get It On Credit (1982), with Your Daddy Don't Know perhaps being their best known hit on the 1982 album. Lalonde was then replaced by Mike Gingrich for 1983's Girls' Night Out. This album also received attention, as did the band's Greatest Hits album of 1984.
There were subsequently several exits and entrances in 1984/85, with founding members Allen and Alton leaving, along with drummer Connors. They were replaced by Marty Walsh (guitars), Daryl Alvara (guitars) and Paul Hanna (drums), and the band rechristened themselves Toronto & Holly Woods. In 1985, the re-vamped sextet released their final album, Assault & Flattery. It featured the single New Romance, written by Holly Knight and Anton Fig.
2005 saw Toronto play at Voyageur Days Festival in Mattawa, Ontario, Canada (near North Bay) with other Canadian classic rockers Moxy, Chilliwack, Trooper, Goddo, Killer Dwarfs and Ray Lyell for the 30th anniversary of the release of the debut album by the band Moxy.

Mieszka cudny chłopak blond
Piegi ma i loków sto
Lecz nieważne wszystko to
Bo on nawet nie wie o tym
Że jest w czyimś sercu motyl
Co rano łechce myśli jej
Jest dziewczyna miła cud
Piegi ma i loków sto
Lecz nieważne wszystko to
Bo ona nie wie o tym
Że jest w czyimś sercu motyl
Co rano burzy jego krew
Jeśli kiedyś pomyślisz sobie
Że miłość ślepa jest
Daj jej szansę
Bym mogła może dziś zauważyć Cię
Sto dwadzieścia łez na wschód
Jest dziewczyna miła cud
Siedemnaście westchnień stąd
Mieszka cudny chłopak blond
Teraz już wiedzą o tym
Po co jest w sercu motyl
Co rano razem budzą się
Jeśli kiedyś pomyślisz sobie
Że miłość ślepa jest
Daj jej szansę
Bym mogła może dziś zauważyć Cię
Jeśli kiedyś pomyślisz sobie
Że miłość ślepa jest
Daj jej szansę
Bym mogła może dziś zauważyć Cię
Jeśli kiedyś pomyślisz sobie
Że miłość ślepa jest
Daj jej szansę
Bym mogła może dziś zauważyć Cię
The song "17 westchnień" by Toronto tells a story of two individuals who are secretly in love with each other but are unaware of each other's feelings. The lyrics use vivid imagery to describe their features and the impact they have on each other.
In the first verse, it is mentioned that there is a beautiful blond boy who lives seventeen sighs away. The boy has freckles and curly hair, which adds to his charm. However, what matters most is that he is unaware of the fact that he holds a special place in someone's heart. A butterfly metaphor is used to depict the gentle touch of his thoughts that caress the girl's mind every morning. It shows that she is deeply enamored by him, even though he remains oblivious.
Moving on to the next verse, it introduces a lovely and extraordinary girl who cries one hundred and twenty tears every morning. Like the boy, she also has an abundance of freckles and curly hair. While she possesses stunning qualities, she lacks the knowledge that she has captured someone's heart. In this case, it is the boy who has a butterfly fluttering in his heart, disrupting his blood flow at the mere thought of her.
The song's chorus makes a plea to the listener to consider that love is often blind. It encourages giving love a chance, as it may open one's eyes to the possibility of noticing the person who has been silently admiring them.
In the final verse, it is revealed that the boy and girl are aware of each other's feelings. The beautiful blond boy who lived seventeen sighs away and the extraordinary girl who cried one hundred and twenty tears every morning have now become conscious of their mutual affection. The butterfly that resided in their hearts, symbolizing their love, has brought them together. They wake up together, cherishing each other's presence.
The song's repetition of the plea in the chorus emphasizes the hope that this newfound awareness of their love will allow them to finally notice each other and act upon their feelings.
Overall, "17 westchnień" conveys a story of unrequited love that ultimately blossoms into a reciprocated affection once the two individuals become aware of their shared emotions. It speaks to the unpredictable nature of love and the importance of being open to its possibilities.
