The score was composed by Toru Minegishi, Asuka Ohta, and Koji Kondo. Additionally, Mahito Yokota was credited in the ending for teaser music composition. Minegishi headed up music composition and sound design in Twilight Princess, providing all the field and dungeon music under the supervision of Kondo.

With the advent of optical storage media, the implementation of fully orchestrated tracks instead of sequenced music became possible. Optical storage media technology led to the inclusion of one prerecorded track that acts as both the E3 2005 trailer theme and the music for the demo movie played after the title screen. That song was composed by Kondo and arranged for an orchestra by Michiru Oshima, later to be conducted by Yasuzo Takemoto. Three drafts of the trailer music have been composed by different musicians; one of them was released on the Official Soundtrack and is called "The Legend of Zelda: Orchestra Piece #2".

The fact that Nintendo has decided not to use recorded songs for other music in the game, however, has been a point of criticism. Kondo originally stated that he "would really like to push for" an acoustic orchestral soundtrack, as he considers live instruments much more deep and expressive than the ones used in digital music. However, after the game's release, he stated that a full orchestra would have been unnecessary for this specific title.

Hearing all these incredible songs again brings tears to my eyes. Twilight Princess was the first game I ever played. When I was little, I was at my best friends house and he dad was playing it on their Wii. After we watched him play for HOURS, I asked if I could play, so he handed me the controller. I picked up that controller, and I haven't put it down since. :) It's the first game I ever played, and it's always been my favorite. I don't know if its the story, the art, the music, all of it together makes this game perfect to me. I first beat it when I was 8, and my dad helped me with the boss battle, but we did it together. It's literally the first thing I can remember and even if it probably won't happen, it's always been my dream to move to Japan and work for Nintendo. These games have all changed my life for the better, and one day I want to be able to help create one that will change other peoples lives. :)

@anima.vestra I also watched my sister when she was playing the game. She was 13 and I was 8 or 9. Even when mainly she had the controller it made so much fun. Somtimes she let me play. Zelda Twillight Princes was also one of my first games ever and my first Zelda Game. I literally loved it. (still doing :) Now .when I listen to the Music it makes me everytime again crying. I think Zelda is one of the games with the best music. I also love the art and the story in this game. Even if it's so many years ago now, it's still my favourite game.

Thats beautiful. I have a similar story as well with this game. I was 9 and my parents bought it for me as a gift for Christmas. My dad would help me with this game every day because I’ve never really played and adventure game before this and didn’t know English well. We spent hours playing it together and it’s one of my favourite childhood memories. I love this game a lot. I don’t see my dad much anymore as he lives on the other side of the country but I miss those times a lot

I’m really glad this was my first Zelda game. It feels so fleshed out and like a definitive Zelda experience, since it has all the tropes and iconography you would expect from a game in this series (Link has humble beginnings and becomes a world-saving hero, Princess Zelda uses magic, Ganon/Ganondorf is the big bad, the Triforce, the Master Sword, Epona, and Hyrule Field are all there, etc. But then there is a ton of original stuff in it too like Midna, Zant, the Twilight realm and its inhabitants, Wolf Link, all the shadow creatures, and how expansive Hyrule is in this game, plus it has arguably the best combat mechanics in any game in the series. It just felt like a complete serving of Zelda, and really invites you in to the rest of the series. Love it.

I agree. My first Zelda game was Ocarina of Time. Such an amazing story and the music was amazing to hear. When I finished it, I had a happy feeling. That's what did it for me. After Ocarina of Time, my love for the legend of Zelda was born.

TP is my all time favorite, it's such a melancholic and philosophical and eternal zelda game. You have the best partner in the world, with a relationship that almost becomes romantic. Imagine how lonely TP would be without midna, if it was link alone. Midna and Link together made the adventure so much more fun and cozy in a very lonely world.. you felt like you really had to win and survive, not for Hyrule but for them. But, why does no one ever mention Minish Cap? That zelda game is my 3rd favorite 😭 It has one of the best villains, namely vaati 😭

@CrisisIsCalling I play zelda for the puzzles and dungeons sure the story has a lot of building on to it from midna using link to finally realizing they can work together. But The dungeons have the coolest designs and the bosses are top tier. The part at the hidden village where u kill 20 boblins and the western music plays was like a fun mini boss in-between the dungeons so the long side quest for getting the sky book was long but that made up for it. My conclusion is long side quest sure but the dungeon after and the halfway point with the hidden village are worth it 👌

I played this as a kid not even understanding English, I kind of just absorbed the atmosphere through the music and the images. Courage, it will pass (or maybe it has already?). You have the right to be happy so please be happy. You may have or haven't done things you regret now, or maybe everything around you seems a mess, I don't know of course, but you are here now and I think what counts is what you choose now. There is alway good around us, and I believe the saddest and the worst people as well have to enjoy life. Sometime the worst situations that seem impossible to cross only need time to reveal they were in fact lessons or challenge that give us more strength or more compassion for the others :)
It doesn't make sens to get "sad" for things that Were in the past, or things you can't do nothing about. We have to accept that, to accept us (we don't know why we are how we are, why our life is the way it is.) It doesn't depend on us). what we can do is only trying to give our best right now. Yep, that winter was spent next to the fireplace, eating warm food and playing this game nonstop. One of my favorite memories. I really felt like I was embarking on an epic adventure and I’ll always cherish that. I’m really, really glad that this was my first Zelda game.

It was the year 2007 and I remember, after a long day at a piano recital, coming home to my dad playing TP on the Wii in the living room. My brothers and I immediately plopped in front of the tv to watch him play. We all took turns fighting mini-bosses and enemies, and sometimes two people would try to control Link (one control moving and the other control attacking). The room was filled with laughter and warmth. Those were simpler times.

I got another Zelda as my personal favorite: Breath of the Wild. My first Zelda was Wind Waker and so it will always have the special place in my heart. But Twilight Princess overall is an adventure what Ocarina of Time never could reach. Ok, Oot stood for Innovation but only for 26 years ago. Only the Story and Music is great and is important for the Franchise but I replayed it and I noticed it became very very old and it is far far away to be called a perfect game. But Twilight Princess IS a perfect game. From the beginning to the end it gave you the right feeling for a huge Adventure. Better World Design, better Dungeons, better Story and one of the most heartbreaking endings. So thank you for putting Twilight Princess on your favorite position and that you aren’t a nostalgic blind person who can’t accept that Ocarina of time isn’t the best Zelda game. It can be your favorite, but it will never have the quality of Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Skyward Sword or Breath of the Wild.

Twilight Princess will always have a very special place in my heart-especially around Christmas. It's my favorite Zelda game. I remember eagerly waiting for Santa to deliver a Wii with this game when I was little. I am a HUGE Legend of Zelda fan and I have to say that I always come back to this game to hear the music. The soundtrack to this game is like no other. It's absolutely fantastic and congratulations to the creators for producing the BEST and most fitting music for the style and theme of the game. Me and my uncle beat
the game ALOT... I was 3 and 4 years old and I would always go to his house to play it.. he died when I was 7. The flow of time is unforgiving and cruel it seems, the best memories are those of your childhood. You must use portals even as simple as a complex game like this to be your key to your best times and use this to build yourself for the future.

Edit: 3 years gone like a flash today marks 10 years of his passing ;( still some of my best memories are right here in the storyline of this game. Thank you game for giving me something to cherish as a memory.

My step-dad and I had a similar connection to this game. He would play it over and over for me because I loved to watch it as a kid, around 7 years back he passed away from lung cancer. This game will always be one of my favorites because of the pure nostalgia and enjoyment it gives me.

This is by far my favorite Zelda game, the feeling I get when I play it takes me back to a simpler time. This game was my refuge, my escape into a fantasy land that helped me through hard times. The struggles Link faced, the darkness he fought, all of it made me feel like I wasn’t alone.
I’m just glad this video survived the Nintendo purge, they should really release all of their soundtracks so we can listen to them legally.

23:13 ah memories, when I heard this all I could remember was the shopkeepers cat that I use to chase around the village, that one monkey that enjoyed stealing cradles from people.. The Village of Odin had so many things that I loved to do, and the music and beautiful graphics made it even better. Each part of the world had a different sound track and that make the game so wonderful. I remember as a little kid I like running around for hours trying to smash pumpkins and get gems but I always got so scared when the guy on top of that rock that always loved taking naps yelled at me. Zelda was the first real video game that I ever played and I have loved growing up playing it. Listening to all the different song brought so many different memories and I’m not mad at it, I loved all the cool things that were in the game and all the crazy adventures I went on. This game is so beautiful and so many people are missing out, It’s so underrated..

This game brought me and my family happiness. I Remember sitting down with my dad, shaking at the enemy goblins and fishing together trying to beat the game. Here I am now, glad that this game is apart of my childhood, and feeling nostalgia towards this game because of the music. OoT is indeedy quite dark as y'all said, but I wouldn't say it was actually really mature. We play a kid during half the game, the dichotomy between good and evil is pretty strong, Princess Zelda is cute and smiling... I feel like it was made for kids (it's not a criticism at all, they did it very well and it's actually quite hard when you're an adult to talk to children without considering them as literal dumbasses!) while dealing with very difficult themes.
TP is also dark, but in a more mature way. Link is still young, but grown-up, many places are somehow abandoned or very old, Midna has this fantastic sarcastic humor and is not completely good! The story of the royal characters is way more nuanced, instead of having a Disney-like princess Zelda we have this dignified, wise and powerful ruler who regrets some of her actions but takes full responsibility for them. Midna has had her throne stolen but she admits herself she has made mistakes.

No other zelda game quite matches the formula of Twilight princess, it was so well crafted everything meshed together perfectly. the art style , the music, the dark themes can't be found in any other zelda game with the exception of oot. which is why they are my two favourite. It's a shame they took a different route when it came to these areas in botw. I hope to see botw 2 bring these back. and from the trailer it does certainly look like it will.

Dude, to be honest, this game... it will forever be 50% of my life. The gameplay, the soundtracks, the game itself, and MOST of all, Midna , they are all the best. If i had to choose any game existing, including chinese shit, i would choose Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. Think about it: what other game has so much sacred knoledge? Idk any besides barney and elmo. I cannot help but just replay this over and over. I cant get tired! The only disturbing part is when you finish the 3rd temple, when you confront zant in the lanyaru's spirit pond. I remember walking to the shop with my older brother to pick up this game when I was 8. He somehow convinced our parents too let him bring the wii into our room. Many late nights were spent trying too one up each others fish. Thank you for bringing back these memories.

I remember when i was younger, my dad would play this for me, even though i knew how to play it, and he would always get him upset when he played, probably the controls werent working for him, so that might have been it. TP had a much better story, better bosses, better dungeons, and even better sword fighting mechanics imo because of the sword techniques you learn from hero shade which gives more depth then just the instant dodge. BotW was a great game but it just didn't quite scratch that Legend of Zelda itch for me in the same way TP did.

One of the reasons this was one of the best Zelda games, is the infusion of "Altered Beast". Link can change to a wolf at any time... Unlimited genius.

I started replaying the game on the wii since I remember my sister playing this when i was little and it brings back such good memories since I grew up with Zelda and the nostalgia from all this is even better, I do think TW is a bit better than even the new games since it’s gives such a unique enchanting feeling to it than the other games and gives it a unique story that just makes you understand and draw you into the game even more

@The_21_Blurry_Faced_ Heathens I’m 2 years late but after TP, the next Zelda game I played through was actually A Link Between Worlds, quite a few years later. Then I played Ocarina of Time, then Majora’s Mask (both on the 3DS but the original versions are cool too). Then Breath of the Wild. I still need to finish a few others that I have started playing, but I think those first 5 are a really good order in which to play the series, especially with MM and BotW coming later since they deviate a lot from the standard Zelda formula. A Link Between Worlds could also probably be substituted for A Link to the Past if you prefer the old-school flavor of that game.

Playing it through for my first time and I'm already hooked

The whole time I am always saying to myself "Where has this game been all my life?" Seriously awesome. Definitely the best first Zelda game you can play.

After I beat it which should I play next? I own a Wii and a Wii U. Soon a 3Ds

Twilight Princess is my favorite Zelda game by far, the music just added on to the already fantastic story and characters. I love The Legend of Zelda.
