Cheryl Lynn provided the female backing vocal.
The song is still performed on tour. It is adapted with improvisational solos on guitar and keyboards.[1]
In an 1988 interview with Modern Drummer, Jeff Porcaro discussed developing the groove for "Georgy Porgy":
"...it's imitating Paul Humphrey heavily; it's imitating Earl Palmer very heavily. When it comes to that groove, my biggest influences were Paul Humphrey, Ed Geene, Earl Palmer, and the godfather of that 16th-note groove, James Gadsen. That "Georgie Porgie" groove I owe to them."

I just need contemplation over you
I'm not so systematic
It's just that I'm an addict for your love
I'm not the only one that holds you
I never ever should have told you
You're my only girl
I never ever should have told you
You're my only world
Just think how long I've known you
It's wrong for me to own you, lock and key
It's really not confusing
I'm just the young illusion, can't you see?
I'm not the only one that holds you
I never ever should have told you
You're my only girl
I'm not the only one that holds you
I never ever should have told you
You're my only world
Georgy Porgy, pudding pie
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Georgy Porgy, pudding pie
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Georgy Porgy, pudding pie
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Kissed the girls and made them cry
It's not your situation
I just need contemplation over you
I'm not so systematic
It's just that I'm an addict for your love
I'm not the only one that holds you
I never ever should have told you
You're my only girl
I'm not the only one that holds you
I never ever should have told you
You're my only world
Georgy Porgy, pudding pie
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Georgy Porgy, pudding pie
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Georgy Porgy, pudding pie
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Georgy Porgy, pudding pie
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Georgy Porgy, pudding pie
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Georgy Porgy, pudding pie
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Kissed the girls and made them high
Georgy, yeah, Porgy, yeah
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Georgy, yeah, Porgy
Kissed the girls and made them cry
Kissed the girls and made them cry
In Toto's song "Georgy Porgy", the singer is expressing his addiction to a woman's love. He admits to being unable to think systematically because of his overwhelming desire for her. The line "Not the only one that holds you" refers to the fact that he knows he is not the only man in her life, which leads him to regret telling her that she is his only world. Despite this, he still feels possessive of her, describing himself as a "young illusion" and comparing her to a lock and key that he must own.
The chorus of the song is a reference to the nursery rhyme "Georgie Porgie", in which a boy named Georgie kisses girls and makes them cry. This chorus could be interpreted as a commentary on the singer's own behaviour, as he is also causing pain to the woman he loves.
Overall, the song is a melancholy reflection on addiction, possessiveness, and the pain that can come with love.

Been trying to figure out WHY this song is so perfect. Is it the melancholic vibe? The groove, the interesting chord progression? The vocal performance? The engineering? The guitar solo? The arrangement? The lyrics? I think the fact that those are all contenders is what makes it so good. Every aspect is spot on.
