Raised in the Djursholm district of Danderyd, Lo is an alumna of the music school Rytmus Musikergymnasiet. She formed the rock band Tremblebee in 2006. After it disbanded, Lo pursued a career in songwriting and earned a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music in 2011. Working with producers Alexander Kronlund, Max Martin and Xenomania, she became a successful songwriter, while also recording and releasing her own compositions independently.
In 2013, Lo was signed to Universal Music, Island and Polydor. The following year, Lo rose to prominence with her debut album, Queen of the Clouds. It spawned the sleeper hit single "Habits (Stay High)", which peaked at number three on the US Billboard Hot 100, as well as "Talking Body". Her second album, Lady Wood, was released in October 2016 and debuted at number 11 on the Billboard 200. Its lead single, "Cool Girl", became an international hit. Her follow-up records, Blue Lips (2017) and Sunshine Kitty (2019), also performed well, the latter spawning the song "Glad He's Gone", which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Music Video.
In addition to her solo work, Lo has co-written songs for other artists, including: Lorde's "Homemade Dynamite" (2017) and Ellie Goulding's "Love Me Like You Do" (2015), a song that garnered her Grammy Award and Golden Globe nominations. She has collaborated with many artists, such as Charli XCX, Flume, SG Lewis, Dua Lipa, Kylie Minogue and Coldplay, among others.
I'm Coming
Tove Lo Lyrics

I'm "Lucy in the sky"
I'm queen of the clouds
Yeah, I know she's cute, but please baby hold out
'Cause I have fallen hard
Fell so hard that I woke up
Yeah, I know she's cute, but please baby hold out'Cause
I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming
I am almost there
I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming now
Hold out
You know that
I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming
Baby, I think I'm in love
The taxi, the hallway, the elevator, staircase
Falling, falling
You and me now
Please baby, please just wait
Just hold out
Fifteen thousand feet up in the air
I see it all so clear
I know she's cute, but it needs to be you and me
You and me
'Cause
I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming
I am almost there
I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming now
Hold out
You know thatI'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming
Baby, I think I'm in love
The taxi, the hallway, the elevator, staircase
Falling
I'm falling
Falling now
I'm falling now, falling
'Cause
I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming
I am almost there
I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming now
Hold out
You know that
I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming
Baby, I think I'm in love
The taxi, the hallway, the elevator, staircase
Falling
I'm falling
The song starts off with the singer lying awake at night, reminiscing about a girl known as "Lucy in the sky". She admits that she's cute, but pleads with her partner to hold out because the singer has fallen hard for her. The anticipation for her partner to return is building up, as she exclaims "I'm coming" repeatedly throughout the song.
As the singer gets closer to being reunited with her partner, she urges them to wait for her and hold on, highlighting the desperation to be with her partner. The imagery used in the song is well-crafted, as it mentions various spaces such as the staircase, elevator, and hallway painting a vivid picture of the singer's journey.
The song conveys the feeling of yearning and the lengths of one such person could go to be with the person they love. Ultimately, the song is a unique representation of love and the expectations that come with it.
