But I don't care 'cause you are all I see
I like 'em young, I like 'em young
Eyes wide oh, you're so naive
Thinkin' no one knows better than me
I like 'em young, I like 'em young
And you keep make me wonder
Age is just a number
That they don't think about
That's all I think about
I like 'em young, I like 'em young, I like 'em young
Young like me with a mind so we see
I like 'em young, I like 'em young, I like 'em young
Young like me with a mind so we see, I like 'em
Hey girl, why you're judging me?
When your, your guy is turning fifty three
I like 'em young, I like 'em young
I don't know what really gets you more
Is it that my guy is gonna live out yours?
I like 'em young, I like 'em young
They say they don't give but I
I can tell you're lying
'Cause we are slowly dying
Trying to work it out and all I think about
I like 'em young, I like 'em young, I like 'em young
Young like me with a mind so we see
I like 'em young, I like 'em young, I like 'em young
Young like me with a mind so we see, I like 'em
Life, I live mine
Love, not one kind
All is fare in love and war
My manners out the door
Why do I need them for?
I like 'em young, I like 'em young, I like 'em young
Young like me with a mind so we see
I like 'em young, I like 'em young, I like 'em young
Young like me with a mind so we see, I like 'em young
The lyrics of Tove Lo's song "Like Em Young" tell the story of a woman who is attracted to much younger men. She acknowledges that the men are too young for her, yet she doesn't care because they are all she sees. The chorus repeats the phrase "I like 'em young" and emphasizes that she is looking for men who are young like her and have a similar mindset.
In the second verse, the singer questions why a girl is judging her for her preference in men when the girl's own partner is much older than hers. The lyrics suggest that age is just a number and that the singer can connect better with younger men who have a similar mindset. The third verse indicates that the singer lives life on her own terms and doesn't conform to societal norms of proper behavior or manners.
