Her father, the musician Anders Östman, scored a Swedish number one hit in the 1970s. He opened a music store after he stopped touring. Anders Östman introduced Tove to guitar when she was a child, but she preferred the piano, being encouraged by her piano teacher grandfather.
Her mother Anna, a former dancer and ballet instructor, is the manager of a ballet academy and enrolled her in dance classes at an early age. Tove has a younger and an older sister. Tove Styrke began performing as a vocalist in a local jazz band in her high school years. She also modeled for various publications.

Even If I'm Loud It Doesn't Mean I'm Talking to You
Tove Styrke Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Palooka set in motion and it's drowning you
I know you feel that pop doesn't really have a clue
But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you
I think I hit a nerve when I burst solitude
Palooka set in motion and it's drowning you
I know you feel that pop doesn't really have a clue
You're educated now but you never stand a chance
Sophisticated ain't helping you to do the dance
I think you're stuck in that me myself and I romance
But that's too wild for you man to understand
I think I hit a nerve when I burst solitude
Palooka set in motion and it's drowning you
I know you feel that pop doesn't really have a clue
But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you
But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you
But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you
You got a true mad deep big crush on yourself
I hope you hit the ground hard when you fell for yourself
You got that crossed armed posture such a sorry sight
If you do shit like that I don't need to be nice
I got my half ass rhymes to set me free
That's why you never ever ever can get to me
I sense my loolycomotion's like a brick at you
But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you
I think I hit a nerve when I burst solitude
Palooka set in motion and it's drowning you
I know you feel that pop doesn't really have a clue
But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you
Nah, can't take it, Imma break it, Im gonna shake it off me now
But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you
Within 27 minutes I'm gonna shake it like a diva
But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you
Nah, can't take it, Imma break it, Im gonna shake it off me now
But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you
Within 27 minutes I'm gonna shake it like a diva
But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you
But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you
I think I hit a nerve when I burst solitude
Palooka set in motion and it's drowning you
know you feel that pop doesn't really have a clue
But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you
But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you
But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you
The lyrics of Tove Styrke's song 'Even If I'm Loud It Doesn't Mean I'm Talking to You' express the idea that even though someone may seem loud and bold, it does not necessarily mean that they are addressing anyone in particular. The line "I think I hit a nerve when I burst solitude" suggests that the singer's actions may have had an impact on someone who was previously content with being alone, but it was not directed towards them. The use of the term "palooka set in motion" suggests a feeling of chaos that the person is experiencing in response to the singer's actions, but the singer is not responsible for it.
The second verse implies that the person who is affected by the singer's actions is someone who is educated and sophisticated but is not able to let go and have fun. The line "I think you're stuck in that me myself and I romance" indicates that the person may be too obsessed with themselves to appreciate other people's perspectives. The chorus repeats the theme that the singer's loudness is not directed towards that person, and the final lines, "But even if I'm loud it doesn't mean I'm talking to you," reinforce this idea.
Overall, the song is about the power dynamics of communication and how assumptions can often lead to misunderstandings. The singer wants to emphasize that being loud and confident does not always equate to being aggressive or confrontational. The song is a clever blend of pop and electronic dance music that showcases the singer's vocal talent and unique style.
