Toxic Narcotic was formed with the intent of mixing their favorite elements of punk and hardcore into an original sound with some nihilistic lyrics. This mix of brutal music with extremely energetic shows has created a large local and national following of people from different genres of underground music. The band has toured almost constantly for the past ten years all over North America and Europe. Aside from being the support act on several national tours, Toxic Narcotic has done countless DIY tours and has played with almost every band imaginable in every conceivable location. The band has self-released most of our own material from the very beginning on Rodent Popsicle Records, a label formed by the members of the band in 1992. Rodent Popsicle Records has grown to be one of the largest punk labels in New England and has put out almost one hundred releases to date. The label has helped dozens of local Boston area bands and booked countless shows for local and touring bands large and small.
Toxic Narcotic’s personal belief is that respect and integrity are more important than image and popularity. This is why we have always incorporated whatever style of music we want in our sound with no regard to what people think of us or trying to fit into any one specific clique or genre of underground music. We do not care what genre you choose to classify us as, nor do we care what people think of us! We choose not to rehash old musical styles by sounding like our influences, but rather create our own unique sound like a lot of the bands we are influenced by were doing in their time. Because we mix all kinds of styles into our music we have fans from every genre of underground music. We do not prefer any one group of people or subgenre of punk music over another. The band believes in unity in the so called scene but not at the cost of accepting ignorance from someone just because they dress the same or claim to have the same political views! We judge people by their character and actions not by their words or dress!

Whatever It Takes
Toxic Narcotic Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Fill them with envy, whatever it takes
Keep them fighting, spreading your lies
You won't be happy till everyone dies
Now its time to get things straight
All these religions are perverted by hate
Leaders preaching murder in their gods name
But my religion is hate itself
Hate for your greed and hate of your wealth
Hate for your system that keeps us in chains
Hate for your doctrine that i think is insane
Bow down to receive your fate
If you worship an image we make
Brought down, now you're a slave
'Cause its the decision you've made
Bow down to a ruthless crusade
Brought down by the leader irate
Held down, now you're a slave
Even right here in the home of the brave
Toxic Narcotic's song "Whatever It Takes" is a commentary on the ways in which people in power manipulate and control others to achieve their own interests. The verses are a direct critique of religious and political leaders who use fear and hatred to motivate their followers, often resulting in violence and destruction. The lyrics call attention to the dangers of blindly following these figures and their destructive ideologies.
The chorus ("Fill them with lies, thrill them with hate, Fill them with envy, whatever it takes, Keep them fighting, spreading your lies, You won't be happy till everyone dies") highlights the insidious ways in which these leaders maintain their power: by pitting people against each other and creating an atmosphere of mistrust and animosity. The singer acknowledges their own hatred, but points out that it is rooted in a desire for justice and equality, rather than a lust for personal gain.
The song encourages listeners to think critically about the ideologies they're being sold and resist the urge to blindly follow those in power. It highlights the importance of questioning authority and standing up against injustice, even when it seems like the odds are stacked against you.
