“Melancholic pop has rarely sounded nicer” writes the Dutch music magazine OOR about debut-ep Neon Chameleon. Wonderful compliment but très.b is more than just that. The band started at a Danish “Hojskole” (high school). First outing? A cover of PJ Harvey’s “Who the Fuck”.
très.b is an International formation: Polish singer (Misia Ff), half Danish/half English drummer (Tom Pettit) and a half Dutch/half American guitarist (Olivier Heim). Dutch alternative radio station KINK FM calls the band “a new Dutch talent”. And indeed, regardless of their mixed origins, they feel right at home in the Lowlands.
“By now the band has built up a strong live reputation” mentions Belgian webmagazine Cutting Edge. The band name can be translated directly from French, meaning “very b”. OOR writes in their review about the influences of the band: “Misia Furtak sounds like a mixture between Björk and PJ Harvey.” Furthermore, the three piece has also been compared to bands like Sonic Youth. Dutch Magazine Fret concludes: “The music won’t bore you for a second and makes you curious about the band's new material.”
Early March the band will release their debut single and accompanying video clip made for the track. The single was mixed in New York City by Victor Van Vugt, who has worked with acts like: PJ Harvey, Nick Cave and Depeche Mode.
très.b has given over 100 shows at festivals and venues all over Europe since last year. Moreover the band took part in the Popronde 2007 and came in second at the “Nu of Nooit” finals of 2008. The band shared the stage with acts like: Moke, Sioen, Vive La Fête, Agua de Annique, Hey, Nosowska, Dick4Dick, HIT ME TV, Alain Clark and many more.
très.b is:
Misia Furtak, vocals/bass
Olivier Heim, guitars
Tom Pettit, drums

RECENT REVIEW of Scylla and Charybdis:
With the help of Thesis, Jason and his Argonauts managed to sail right in between Scylla and Charybdis. Odysseus, on the other hand, did have to face the two seamonsters. To escape très.b is a lot more difficult. The songs of the Maastrichtian band slowly suck you in. Its just like the damn whirlpool of Charybdis. très.b has, however, a more important seductive force at hand; siren Misia Furtak. The Pole of origin breathes, sighs, shouts, screams and sings as if her life depended on it. In the beautiful Ola – also to be found on the earlier released Neon Chameleon EP – she is at her best. Earlier I called her a mix between Björk with a cold and PJ Harvey. In those songs not earlier released on the EP, Furtak has no trouble untying herself from this comparison. In the beautiful melancholic Addiction her voice sounds like darkbrown, syrupy whisky. Well, however she sounds, she always manages to give très.b's songs that uneasy touch . This fitting perfectly with the undercooled melancholic pop that, on a musical level, flirts with PJ Harvey and, to a lesser extent, Sonic Youth . Here and there this might be slightly on the excessive side but whoever dives into the silent beauty of Winter In My Hands and Moonbathing will hear that très.b is capable of great things. But watch out for that darned Furtak. Before you know it your will sail to shipreck. THEO PLOEG (not as beautiful as the original, translated from Dutch)

Oh yeah
Yes yes yes
Yes yes yes
Yes yes yes
