Hailing from Northern New Jersey, the band formed in early 2008. Fueled by the songwriting team of Doug Hoekstra (bass) and Joe DeProspero (vocals), Tragically Yours’ music crosses seamlessly between genres of rock, alternative and metal.

The band was founded when Hoekstra, looking for an avenue to “carry out songs that had been floating around in [his] mind for years,” recruited DeProspero and long-time friend Danny Glozzy (drums) to start a project. While writing songs and developing their style, the trio went through a long and arduous search for a lead guitarist to complete the lineup. Their efforts were ultimately rewarded when they united with Ian Stafford (guitar), formerly of the Sleeping Revolt, whose skill and versatility brought the band to a new level.

But this has absolutely ripped me apart emotionally and psychologically and sick to my stomach and heart that anyone could do this to a child let alone his Father.. I spoke to my father today sadly who was in tears thinking we (all his adult children) had died in a plane crash as my sister video called me from the care home after rushing there as my father has been in tears all day. This is medical neglect and neglect from Social Services who deem it acceptable for people to suffer like this. My father has already had a significant stroke being this upset could cause further strokes since he still has bleeding from his brain. First off, if his mother wasn't in jail for stabbing her man she would have been out to take care of her child. I feel bad for the Grandmother because she did try and I can tell she did love him. Just like most states have different times of punishments. Texas can put you to death in a second when some state will never execute a person. Just different states following different laws. That cop that killed Mr. Floyd while he was on the ground with no weapon and handcuffed should have gotten life in my book, but in my book that sentence isn't possible. If Mr. Floyd had killed the cop what would his sentence have been? That's all I'm saying.

Even before he was in Hughes and Tustin's care this little boy saw domestic abuse played out in front of him with violent arguments between his birth mother and boyfriend and then to move to something worse where the abuse is directed towards him is heartbreaking. This is so heart breaking for me. I am fortunate enough that even at 42 years of age I will remember I was lucky enough to have parents that loved me and protected me throughout my life. I never had children of my own because I was never fortunate enough to meet the right woman but if I was ever lucky enough to have a child of my own, I would do my best to pretect that child. If people can't look after their child, just do the child a favour and let someone else have the child by giving him/her up for adoption. I really feel so sad for this little boy. I would love a little boy like him and teach him things such as history, physics and mathematics. His death is just not fair. I am so sad.

I will never understand why parents like these just don’t give the child to the grandparents! In the vast majority of these severe child abuse cases, there is a family member who loves the child and who would be more than happy to take them. I just don’t understand why anyone would rather bear and starve and kill the child then to just simply admit that they do not want them.

You wonder why the extended family weren't permitted access to Arthur, given that his father and stepmother seemed to think so little of the child. Yes, he'd have been safer with his grandparents. Both grandmothers saw the pictures of Arthur's bruises and alerted authorities. Then my mother reminded me that Arthur would have been of great value to his father as a commodity - in terms of child benefit payments, housing etc.

I am glad those psychopaths are in jail with a lengthy sentence and I was truly heartbroken by the tragedy of this poor lad, his words caught on camera will be forever in my head now. I would suggest you read the transcript of how the social worker answered questions during the court case and then you will realise what I meant.

@R S You can't make this statement with out actually witnessing what the Social workers encountered on that day. I think it's extremely naive and easy to look back on with 20/20 hindsight and assume that the social workers missed "obvious" abuse. The boy was still in relatively easy to cover / deceive condition on the date of the visit. As hard as it is to digest it's not particularly difficult for a biological parent to make things seem much better than things are for an hour or two that they were visited for by workers, or to manipulate and control exactly how Arthur behaved in their presence. It's very narrow minded and disgusting to try and shift any blame from the people who deceived and actually dealt this abuse and murder.

When social services visit a child you do not tell the parents you’re coming. You take the child out of the room and speak to them separately they failed this boy!!!!

Social service visits are usually unannounced (where I come from) to prevent the parents from preparing for the visit.
It’s also totally normal to talk to the child alone (in its room for example), so the parents cant intimidate or influence the child.
They failed him so badly…💔

Poor Arthur was murdered in June of last year. I lost my son by miscarriage in July 2020 and was heartbroken over it . I would have loved to have little Arthur and he would have been loved so much and never mistreated. I can't imagine how anyone could do that to anyone but especially a child. They need to be sentenced to death and tortured everyday just like they tortured Arthur. Rest in peace sweet Arthur! You were loved and you deserved so much better in your little short life.

I swear them voice messages of the little boy saying “ no one loves me “ and “ no one is gonna feed me “ is the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever heard. These sick evil bastards should never be released. RIP young 1🙏🏻💔

@Margaret R Atleast better than just throwing them at prison for few years and expecting them to feel sad. Even murderers don't get to stay in prison forever like how corrupted can this law be? We don't know what death penalty can do cuz it's not implemented yet. I'm sure it will decrease the amount of knife crime commited by youth.

i've seen lots of terrible things being reported that have happened to people over the years, but this is the only one that's brought me to tears, I have a 4 year old boy and all i want is for him to be safe and happy and how anyone can do this to such a helpless little child is beyond comprehension , I wish somehow someone could have saved him from his misery . :(

This is absolutely heart wrenching I know vengeance etc should never be promoted but what I would give right now to put the father and stepmother by my own hand through what that poor boy had to endure! I have seen and heard of many horrific things in my life, but this is right up there as one of the most barbaric and distressing events I can remember.
What gives anyone the right to treat anybody like this? I am angry and upset beyond words. Those two monsters should serve a whole life term with no prospect of release, ever. And their fellow prisoners will have no mercy on them. Disgusting, evil people that should be thankful that the death penalty has been abolished in the UK.

When they played that little clip of Arthur struggling to walk I had to close my eyes, I couldn’t watch it. Not going to lie it takes a lot for me to cry but this broke me. No child deserves this, Social services, the police failed him.

I’m so over hearing all of the excuses that social services, & their avid supporters, spew after allowing a child to be murdered. How many stories have we heard, that are just like little Arthur’s? A child is being abused, people reach out to CPS, they do absolutely nothing but embolden the abusers & a child ends up paying the ultimate price. It makes me physically ill thinking about how many times they’ve completely failed the ones they’re supposed to protect.

Just thinking about how hard it is for me as an adult to even hear this story and then thinking about how this sweet darling boy was left to live this horrific life every day of his short life is just soul destroying. I’m not a vengeful violent person but I hope to god all the other inmates get to know exactly who these monsters are and that the guards do a good job of turning a blind eye while some prison justice gets served.

I was very tired and sleepy this past midnight and I was binge watching some horrific cases. But unbeknownst to me, I accidentally played this hard hitter. Suddenly, I was awoken fully when the child uttered these words "Nobody loves me" and so forth. I was horrified for the fact it was a soft sad and lonely child's voice. At this point, I was neither mad or sad, just straight up terrified with my flight for fight response.

All of the sudden, this child's case would haunt me better than any gruesome case I have ever heard.

Devastating watching this just totally breaks my heart too bits , Poor Arthur suffered in pain and locked away in the room alone with no food or love 😢 Emma Tustin trying to cover up her tracks telling police 'Arthur was naughty he was hitting me pushed me down stairs? Really? As if a child would absolutely do that , watching video seeing Aruth struggling pick up the blanket then saying 'nobody loves me' 'nobody is going to feed me' just breaks my heart so so much 😔😩 sleep tight Arthur always loved by family and friends never forgotten 💙 RIP Little boy💙

barry Hodgkinson punishment to fit the crime. Locked alone and slowly battered to death and starved over 132 days. Justice and accountability. You can see the contempt they have for the law when making excuses for the boys death. Would be very different if they knew what was coming.

This is what happens when the child is completely ignored in the process. When social services visited, did they ask Arthur if he was fed not just that one day but the whole week/month? They they make him feel safe and in private ask him if he felt loved etc? Everyone let Arthur down! I’m sorry I wasn’t there to protect you little one. I'm only 23 and have no thoughts of having kids but I would've adopted him in an instant if I could've. Poor boy deserved so much better and it truly is a tragedy. I hope for Arthur that there is an afterlife where he can be loved and feel peace and happiness.

There are so many awful crimes but nearly all of them have SOME reason. This was just pure evil. I'm not a sadistic person but the two that did this to him deserve no less than to be tortured every day of their lives until the day they die. There is no room for forgiveness. And what will they get? "Life" in prison, which will probably end up being about 10 years or less, segregated from the other inmates that would surely kill them. What a sad world.

@Ben Lidster I did some research on it and now I literally feel like I’m going to cry. What that person just said has really triggered me. I actually developed borderline personality disorder after being abused like this child did. My adoptive parents abused me for 13 years and I experienced more abuse from others too. I suffer greatly with my disorder. Calling me a demon though?? I have a severe amount of empathy for the people around me, my partners everyone. I’m very emotional and care allot about others and genuinely do my best to help people in anyway I can. What this person has said is truly awful

@Cross I have BPD, Dependent personality disorder and traits of histrionic personality disorder which are cluster b conditions according to the DSM. Having these conditions is a daily battle, but it's like saying someone who is addicted to drugs is inherently evil which is another thing people have said or implied throughout my life. The reality is that suffering from personality disorder is mainly borne of trauma. Your premise that all people with cluster b diagnoses are capable of such cruelty is a sweeping generalization and a dangerous one. I am more than capable of being a compassionate empath. I don't suffer from Narcissistic personality disorder, but i wouldn't wish any personality disorder on my worst enemy, even that one. I'm not defending those two, merely defending myself. Those two are pure evil, beyond despicable and beneath contempt!

Im a doctor in a government hospital and have seen the most horrendous of vehicular accidents and gore. But I cried. I cried a lot when I read about his story. Of what they did to him. I dont understand why they would do that... When I have kids come in and have to write a report about rape ( usually underage girls). My demeanor change to that of rage... Imagine this kid... Damn it. Im so sad and angry.

Shame we don’t have the death penalty for child torture so heartbreaking what he went through. They were reported by both sets of grandparents and still nothing done. Telling the dad I am not safe with you bless him. To say you were not loved and being tortured like that breaks my heart. You deserved so much better from your short life and you were let down by those that should have protected you. To be telling people for a year your dad was going to kill you is soul destroying that no one did there job to help and protect you. How her two kids got sweets and food, drink and he got nothing and his favourite teddy and blanket got destroyed by the dad and sleeping on the floor in the living room not even a mattress broke my heart.
